  • Holy necro. Wtf is wrong with you guys?

  • I still remember year 1998, when 32mb of RAM was awesome to play games, listen to music, and watch porn movies.

the spirit of the necro brings me all the way back to 1995 ... a i386 + 16 mb of ram + slackware on 13 floppy disks -> gcc, Perl, pine, usenet, Mosaic browser running in X-Window system with twm window manager. I was totally psyched - system was pretty snappy and ... network was fast my man!

  • I had an Apple with 6502 processor, 1MHz, 48 Kb RAM, AppleSoft Basic and AppleDos 3.3.

Network was slow as hell man!

I still remember 1998, the year I was born into existence.

It was a great year to be born. Adults were happy, teenagers were listening to disco music of the 90s and chatting on IRC networks, kids were playing computer games on Windows 95 wanting Windows 98. Linux could exist on a floppy disk. You are lucky to be one of the sperm winners of 1998.

    nvm

  • It can be used for FTP, 2GB disk can be very little but mostly enough for web backups.

I believe it can handle SSTP too.

  • as a necro....

I'm using my small vps, as znc(irc bouncer), web server with nginx+php5-fpm+mysql, sftp, openvpn server, and munin

  • This is a nice post

I never had a 32MB box, but I hosted my website (nginx+PHP7) in a 64MB box for several years.
Due to limited memory, I have to shutdown everything in order to run certbot for TLS certificate renewal.

  • I still have 50mb VPS from uncle Sal, solid uptime running smokeping and notification through sendgrid smtp relay.
