What is cPanel & Plesk Free Alternative?

taalztaalz Member

I have gone through some panels like CyberPanel, HestiaCP, CloudPanel, Virtualmin, but they don't provide the web host management (WHM) like in cPanel. I want to provide web hosting to the clients. How do I do that with CyberPanel or HestiaCP? I tried VestaCP after sometime today but found out that the development of that stopped. So there are no updates of it and it does not even install because of depreciated commands.

Also, how do you rate them? I heard about some issues with CyberPanel.

Which is the best free alternative of cPanel and Plesk

    2. CloudPanel

Why should anyone pay you money if you’re not willing to pay one of your most important suppliers any money?

Going for all free options will not help at all. I understand you must be starting off or have a low budget, but any other panel will cause so much trouble and inconvenience as there is no good or perfect alternative for paid panels. Each free panel has its limitations. Therefore I would advise trying to get datacenter license of DirectAdmin or a vps with a free DA license. Its the most cost-effective option I see.

I heard that SSH should be pretty good.

A startup that can't afford premium subscriptions.

    I just saw this review:

It's quite interesting when it comes to performance. I am waiting for @piotr to do the review of Cyberpanel vs Cloudpanel.

How much does a data center license cost from DA?

It's not installing for me. It gave an error that it can't find debian whereas I was installing it on Ubuntu with their recommended bash command script.

DA no longer offering DC license, unless the provider you get the service still have the old DA license that can offer to you. But DA is making alot of change to the old license, so if you really prefer to use DA, opt for the new license, as old license alot of update soon no longer support.

  • imo for average users it should be the one that support softaculous.

That's a really good point. Now I tried installing CloudPanel and in the end I just realized, it doesn't have mail or even DNS 😔

What are the primary installations you'd want Softaculous for?

I think majorly everyone use it for WordPress only.

How difficult is it to install WordPress without Softaculous?

You're asking too many questions to be honest. Compile them to a list and ask in one single message.

Avg user don't want to manually install anything, having an installer is the best choice, and is preferred by many shared hosting users.
