Bare Metal / Dedicated Server

KillerScopeKillerScope Member
edited June 2024 in Requests

Hi,

Looking to rent high spec bare metal /dedicated servers.

I'm talking 30-40 core plus, I need a minimum of 1:2:4 ratio (1Core/2Thread/4GB Ram), GPU not needed, but if it comes in the package, I'll take it  . The servers will be used to run validator nodes for a Web 3 project, (not to be confused with mining).

I am looking for relatively cheap prices, and bulk order discounts. I am looking to rent 50-100 units, maybe even more, depending on price.

The best one I have so far is:

Intel® Xeon® w9-3495X
Number of Cores: 56
Number of Threads: 112
Ram: 2 TB
Disk: 4TB NVMe
Bandwidth: Unlimited
Price: $210/month

I would be looking for something similar in terms of specs and price, but open to hear offers and negotiate, even if it's higher spec. As far as location goes, I don't really care as long as uptime and latency is good.

Feel free to throw out names, websites, datacenters and what not. If you are an owner/employee of a data center feel free to reach out.

Contabo, NetCup, Hetzner, Alpenhost are a no go.

Ha! nice try. Spent probably 150-200 hours at this point, looking at providers. I can't tell you that, sorry not yet, looking for them to deliver the rest of my stuff, and if all is well, will probably buy up the rest of their stock. They have a limited stock, and I need it.

    Hi,

    thank you for mentioning!

1x server with 2 TB RAM and 100 Cores for 210 USD/month incl. bandwidth...

no thanks :) I am out

    With this pricing it would make sense to rent it and resell it routing IP space there... its just too cheap to be real, sorry ^^;

    Hi,

    good catch.

But sorry, i am too old for this as it seems, what kind of scam?! is this actually?

The docs giving information about a reward, paid in ether and howto setup nodes to earn rewards. So far so good.

But the docs explaining how to use this network as a dev are all empty/greyed out/non reacting on clicks to open the information. Or the docs are just nonsense.

So what kind of ecosystem is this supposed to be =)

In fact the official site is quilibrium.com in which you may find the whitepaper.

    Hi,

yes i found that. All nice flashy graphs, scientific look like what ever with diagrams and all bla bla.

But no information how to actually use it as a customer / dev. I mean there are the providers who provide the resources and get paid for it.

But logically there must be also the consumers who will pay to consume this resources. And there must be howto's for them too. Some kind of API description or what ever.

But this is completely missing somehow, or i can not find it -- or i am simply too old ( fashioned ) and this is just too high for me :)

    Hi,

i do not doubt your word in any meaning. I just doubt this system :-)

But as i said, maybe i am just too stupid for it.

Anyway, good luck finding cheap resources for this! But dont make long term contracts with the providers, just in case ;-)

It's not a scam, it's very real. You hear about "revolutionary" in every second project, this will be so "high" tech that it's probably it's only downfall, 99.5% of the people don't understand it fully (including me).

Here are 2 things that might help you to better understand it, both are interesting read in my opinion:

    https://x.com/petejcrypto/status/1792079136413954180

And this is even more interesting, and funny enough it's explained for a 5 year old, but still gets complicated:

Also to touch on one of your points earlier, I don't need 2TB Ram, as I said to others, it came in the "package" so I wasn't going to ask him to remove it.

    Hi,

thats still all concept papers. Nothing real how to really use it. Either its just another crypto currency or its what the concept papers try to sell to us compute/storage/what ever decentralized "new" / "next-gen" internet -- but then it should be written somewhere howto use it.

    Anyway:

    AMD Epyc 7642 ( 48 cores / 96 threads )
    256 GB RAM
    8 TB NVMe
    10G incl, 50 TB Traffic

    = 299,- EUR / month

    Location: France
