Thoughts on Plesk?
With legacy DA licenses becoming dead (and the whole meme that goes along with it, see here) I don't see much point in renewing my VPS with an internal license. I only use it for personal sites and domains, but i'd have to pay at least $15/mo for a license direct since I'd exceed the personal plus plan.
On top of that, each release of DA seems to have more and more issues. cPanel pricing really isn't suitable for anyone but a hosting provider.
Given that, it seems like Plesk is the only real alternative. It's still owned by WebPros, but a few hosts offer internal licenses for free. Even if it's only for a year or two, I'll at least be sorted for now. It also seems to offer things like NodeJS which cPanel still doesn't without CloudLinux.
Thoughts on Plesk? Or is there another panel I should consider?

I was using Plesk as it was (perhaps still is) included for a few domains for free at DigitalOcean. When I switched to another VPS, I tried Webmin and it's been working fine for over a year now. It's a tad less intuitive than Plesk, but it's totally free regardless of host.
If you're looking for something more streamlined / less settings for everything, check out Hestia.
(Hint: if you want to know how to do something with webmin, ask ChatGPT. If it's not 100% correct in its response, it'll at least get you on the right track.)
I too once used Plesk. It's a great CP, but like others, costs are getting out of control. I was able to get a yearly license for about $75 (have till Dec, but not using), but the renewal is closer to $170 per year for the cheapest option. This made me look for free alternatives and I've landed on HestiaCP. There is a slight learning curve and it's far less intuitive as Plesk, but it is hard to beat free. It only has CP auto updates, but not system updates, so you have to manually update your server.
