How do VPNs unblock Netflix & Co.?
Hi
I‘ve implemented a Smart DNS Service in my VPN service, to unblock all the streaming sites like Netflix, Disney+ etc. Works pretty fine. Still I wonder, how do the others with their own servers do it? I mean, if IP gets blocked -> bye, if IP has ASN hosting -> bye… Still it works pretty consistent, also with some smaller services from Switzerland.

Probably simply by staying ahead in the cat and mouse game. Unblocking is one of their big cash cows after all so investing some resources into keeping the ball rolling makes quite a bit of sense after all. If there's actually some kind of magic involved they'll likely not be very open to telling their competition about it.
Netflix officially allows VPNs, they even have a policy about it.

Well, yes, watching shows Netflix has worldwide distribution rights for isn't the idea behind unlocking though. At the point a VPN is allowed under this provision it might as well be blocked for most practical purposes.
@totally_not_banned Yeah, probably true
