Purchased a plan with hostthebest 2 months ago. Been solid. But today my server has been down for almost 6 hours. Support doesnt respond at all.

Would probably be hesitant going with these guys . And def dont do a yearly plan .

Lots of better and cheaper hosts on here.

Will update if they ever fix the issue or if it turns out they are deadpooling.

    @daps94 We have been in Utah for 2 years with KVM and OpenVZ there in the WebNX datacenter. We started posting here this year and @yoursunny believes we just started.
    That said, we had a large amount of abuse complaints due to some of the orders that were automatically activated and in all honesty we did not quickly get to some and our services were suspended. Typically if there is something like this we would suspend the VPS or the IP would be null routed. This is the first time that this has happened. We are trying to resolve this but unfortunately since the SolusVM master is also in Utah which is why its down. We are very sorry for the impact that this is causing.

  • So let me get this straight
    You bought a VPS with them for the past 2 months and everything has been going well
    Now you are having some issues (that can be anything, maybe an outage of some sort) and you are complaining and calling them unreliable?
    Pretty weak if you ask me

    It's been down for 8 hours. It's takes me posting here to get them to respond to my ticket and update their website about the outage . This is a leb , i dont expect perfect uptime . But i expect if there is downtime for the team to be on it. I have cheaper servers with other hosts that havent gone down in almost a year. If these guys made even the smallest effort to notify customers about the outage i wouldnt be posting here.

    A whole datacenter is down because of abuse complaints? You dont see the issue with that. And the reality is if these guys made any effort to respond and adress abuse compalints my server wouldnt be down rn .

    Will update this thread if and when they come back online.

    This customer is essentially lying. We did not wait until there was a post here to reply to the ticket. How would we know its this user. The fact of the matter is he contacted on livechat as others have and we responded to those and are still responding to tickets and questions so we posted a notice in the client area. Now the op wants to feel that he made it all happen. There was no post when he got the service and used it for 2 months which is fine. User also opened a dispute for the plan and we said we will honor it but there is no mention of that here either. It is possible we could have avoided some things if the abuse complaints were addressed right away but we try to give the same abusers depending on the nature of the complaint, a chance to respond and fix the issue.

    Thanks for notifying. Rather than just post a blanket response to each ticket, some responses are taking longer as we do have some locations that are unaffected although the panel is affected.

    I thank you for this comment. I do agree. It was the plan to migrate from this location and start to build this out in a few weeks as this the only location where we have leased machines.

    Im lying? Lol . The website didnt update till after i posted here and i didnt get a response for 6 hours then 10 minutes after i posted you responded. Maybe a conicidence but nobody is lying here. Im not here to fight with you , but this shoddy service and not something that should be considered normal or acceptable.

    And yeah after being down for 6 hours (now 10 hours), with no update on your site , no email from your team, and no response to my ticket, i disputed it. I've been scammed way too many times on lowendbox offers maybe i have a bit of ptsd. But regardless this outage is unacceptable.

    service has been down over 10 hours now. I have had to restore backups and deploy to another host . And it doesnt look like your service is gonna be restored anytime soon.

    What about your node in LA? My VPS has been down for more than a week and no route to the IP.
    My ticket has yet to be answered too.

  • When I opened a ticket with hostthebest it was answered in maximum 30min and sorted out. But if sometimes it takes longer, well, they're also human.

    I'm also in a lower priority queue, my ticket hasn't received a response in 10 days ( first reply took them 4 days ), and my VPS has been down since the day I purchased it on May 11 their last offer. The control panel shows offline even after I tried to boot it or reinstall it.

    i moved my stuff over to aquatis 4$ a month for a 8gb vps - hard to beat.

    BTW htb is still down.
