yabs and curl -sL network-speed.xyz | bash -s -- -r eu please
Very cool location!
Sadly not really noticeable in central Europe. It's around 250ms from my local connection and 190ms from Hetzner (Finland). In general this would be pretty interesting for a VPN but at least from around here there's simply too much latency.
If this discount was on the UY-VM 6G package and double ram was also offered with it, I wouldn't be able to resist. So hard to find good higher ram deals in exotic locations.
I've done the test with South American region first below. Results for EU are coming.
Please see the test below for EU region, apart from being restricted by speedtest.net for too many requests in the last few hours.
In short, you can get 135ms in Madrid Spain, and closer to 190ms in Central Europe.
IPv6 isn't supported?
At the moment IPv6 is not available, but we hope it will be made available in Q4 this year by the ISP. My apologies.
Thanks for the feedback. From a submarine cable perspective, EllaLink provides the lowest latency since there is not a direct subsea cable from Uruguay to Europe. The route would go from Uruguay to Brazil, and then handed off to EllaLink. There are only direct subsea cables from Uruguay to USA. At least you avoid having to go through Miami or any other US location, and it may be quite important for privacy purposes.
@hyperblast, YABS is as below:
you're back
my vps in KZ is still rocking, except for a recent outage due to a DDoS attack (which is now solved)
ended up cancelling my server in UY because I didn't have an use case, but for the time I've had it running, not a single outage nor issue.
Depends a lot on peering, but I'm impressed Orange Spain (in Barcelona) has direct peering with Antel in Madrid (DE-CIX) so I get 150ms from here, and most likely 130ms or so from Madrid.
Quite noticeable considering the 2nd largest ISP in Uruguay (Movistar UY) gives me 240ms instead :O
Are they still in business ?
Yep, my services with them still work like a charm
Looks like everything is running on autopilot. Provider last active on LET on May 8. No response to tickets, and emails arrive several days late.
Can't realy say anything about current situation but last ticket I raised about month ago and that ticket was answered in couple of days (to sales dept) - so no problem there too.
But again, what happens today idk (it just works), top-up working, VPS works fine so can't complain
The server I have with them is still working fine and I renew it every month.
Their login captcha is one of the most annoying ones, as it's hard to make out and I have never managed to get it right first time even when it seems clear enough. Often have to do a few attempts before it is accepted.
Services have otherwise been pretty stable, considering the location. Only downtime detected by UptimeRobot since I got the server was a few minutes in June.
Ah yes, the goddamn captcha. I thought I was the only one. I’m using ChatGPT to read the text, and it works almost always.
