YABS?
If I may ask, is there really a 6-month contract period for this VPS?
I ask because the same VPS product on netcup's site doesn't have a 6-month contract period and can be canceled at any time
Yes, there's a 6-month billing period (Abrechnungsperiode), but this isn't the same as a 6-month contract period (Mindestvertragslaufzeit)
It says Contract on the customer control panel when I login
According to the customer panel, when is the earliest time/date that you can cancel the VPS?
I can cancel it today but I don't know if they will refund the balance.
I just don't need it and thought I would offer it here.
Ok more info
You will get refund for the remaining billed period from the date of cancellation?
When did you get the service? within last 7 days??
If you're in the EU, they will refund you the remaining amount via a SEPA bank transfer
If you're not in the EU, they will give you account credit (as far as I'm aware)
It's perfectly fine to offer a service transfer, but if there's isn't a 6-month contract, then it's better not to say that there is one
Right, this is what I suspected
They issue paypal refund, has to be requested via ticket
Good to know -- this is even better than account credit
Thanks @angstrom and @dev_vps
I find German contact wording confusing.
I will leave it here for another 4 hours and if no one wants then I will cancel it
The legal terms are confusing for most folks (including even many lawyers).
if I was not in IT, I would have been in the legal profession. Probably US immigration law, as it is even more complex than Tax laws.
