what happened to /dev/pts/0 ?
Hi Guys,
Normally when I logged in via ssh, the tty would be
/dev/pts/0
But lately, it has always been
/dev/pts/1
Is someone logged in and using pts/0 ?
The last time this happened (a few months ago), I noticed that the node admin is logged in, i.e. I can see the 'vzctl' command when issuing the 'ps ax'.
But now, ps ax does not show the vzctl process.
I have another virtuoso based VPS, and the tty is pts/0
Both VPS are running cpanel.
Any ideas on what could have happened?
Thanks!

What does
who
say? When you answer the question what is /dev/pts in linux you will know what happened. And to confirm, just ask provider.
Must be another process using the terminal
I'd first check what process is using it:
fuser /dev/pts/0
your pts number has been doubled
Ackchyually...
It's me.
Your pts has been upgraded.
OK, I'll try it, thanks
