I need your money to buy more gears. ;)

  • In such a powerful system, perhaps a dual power supply would be better.

Would be better but there is no space for a second PSU in the chassis.

We are not expecting the current PSU to fail in next 10 years but can replace it at anytime in case it does completely fails in near future.

Hey @Shakib , could you please show a Geekbench6 results of a fully load node? That would be the most persuading stats for some people who hasn't tried HostCram.

Yeah I saw that too and got worried, but when I looked more closely I daw that that’s the unused protocol.

These are dedicated cores? If so, each core includes both threads dedicated?

I believe, these cpu vCores are shared.
    @Shakib can confirm.

Those are shared cores. We don't set any limit on the CPU usage but expect our clients to be gentle with it.

Yes. Please submit ticket for Windows installation.

We can install Windows 10 Pro or Server 2022 at no additional cost.

    That's cool!

Everyone should know that, this kind of single and multi core scores will maintain the same level as time passed by. That's what I've experienced in the last 2 years with HostCram.

I would recommend using Windows Server 2019 (or 2022) in place of Windows 10 Prof.

This is more secure and stable and it is designed to run 24x7.

I went with server 2022. I went with the three year upfront and so far it's been running great. I tossed visual studio, ssms, a sql dev instance on there.. I had to provide my own key for the windows instance but the one from my msdn subscription worked without issues. Been a few spikes where it locks up for a few seconds, but overall I'm happy with its performance remoting into it from seattle.

    Use SQL Server Express edition
This will save on memory usage

Would be interesting to know whether the locking up is due to memory or network. Shakib's VPSes ate basically everything I threw at it while I had the 11900k Monster.

  • No idea not a sysadmin just a dev. The symptom was me typing and seeing a pause for a second or two before the text rapidly caught up. Either way not a big deal.

We are currently planning on upgrading our network of each node to 10 Gbps with a 40 Gbps total uplink. Everyone will be upgraded to 10 Gbps at no additional cost. But due to the cost associated with buying new, good-quality 10G network cards and a 40G Juniper switch, we have to have more sales and fill out multiple empty nodes.

  • Could I spread VPS into different nodes?

Assuming you're not going to run anything crypto related, sure.

4 or 5 nodes have available resources. (7700+7900) 2 more coming soon. (7900)
