They permit installation from ISOs, that's why you need your own license. I think they don't offer a template.

    Hi,

    according to passmark:

    12607 benchmark points @ 10 cores = 1260 points per core

    vs.

    17923 benchmark points @ 14 cores for E5-2680v4 = 1280 points per core

    vs.

27337 benchmark points @ 18 cores for Xeon Gold 6150 = 1518 points per core

So maybe i am wrong and / or maybe the passmark benchmarks are wrong, but to me it looks like it does not really matter which Intel server CPU you take of what ever generation.

The speed has not really increased over the last 10 years. There are some models who are faster with less cores. But these are usually not used for VPS hosting because of the limited number of cores.

Which means in the very end if you take the 10 years old 2680v2 or the recent ones... essentially you receive the same cpu power. The only difference might be in the faster RAM...

    Or am i wrong here?

Check single and multi core GB6 score — that is much better indicator of computing power.

    Check this comparison
    https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Xeon-E5-2680-v2-vs-Intel-Core-i7-10700/m17083vs4077

Which one is better -- 4 vCore vs 6 vCores ?
    Geekbench 6 score

    Intel Xeon E5-2680 v2 (6 vCores)
    Single Core - 559
    Multi-Core - 3843

Intel Xeon Gold 6150 (4 vCores)
    Single Core - 1306
    Multi-Core - 4199

    One vCore Ryzen

    AMD Ryzen 9 7900 (1 vCore)
    Single Core - 2429
    Multi-Core - 2368

Next time when cpu kind is missing from the provider offer, ask why?

    Hi,

i am not sure if this compare is valid.

One is a desktop cpu up to 128 GB RAM

The other one is a server cpu with up to 786 GB RAM ( or where ever its limit is ).

I think to have a real compare, we need to compare same CPU types. Its natural for server cpu's to have more cores but less powerful cores.

My point is: If you compare Intel server CPUs along with the different generations, nothing much moved there. So it does not matter if its 10 years old or not. Per core, nothing moved.

Of course an i7 will have more (per core) power compared to a xeon. Thats natural.
