Anyone used layer7.net?

I saw some very attractive offers from them (20TB monthly bandwidth for around 2 EUR per month) located in DUS and France and was wondering if anyone has used them if so please share your experience Thank you
Comments
I 've been using layer7 for a couple of months.
Zero issues.
Oliver seems a great guy, very helpful and polite.
Also using them currently, only a short time but seems pretty good so far. No issues.
Anyone has Yabs?
Yes using the "cheapest" in FRA. Disk speed isnt the best but the rest is fine for the price tag. AFAIK they use a CEPH cluster for storage. Uptime is fine, no problems with routing etc. I cannot login now to do a Yabs.... sorry.
Currently have a mid CPU cloud server (FRA1) from them with 1TB hdd for 50€/year. No downtimes so far, support is fast. Network routes are very direct, good peering, but globally bandwidth is rather low (see yabs) (but the connection depends on the location as they use the network of the datacenter (Aixit in FRA1)). The only disadvantage is that they use WHMCS with a proxmox plugin (ezdeploy, they developed it), and WHMCS, well, the server needs >5 seconds to create the management page...
Mid CPU 2Cores-8GB-80GB FRA1 (+1TB hdd):
And 1TB hdd fio:
Oh nice...thanks for that, was also looking at layer7.net
Can you run the below yabs if not too much trouble, it's for Asia, to see the network speed?
wget -qO- network-speed.xyz | bash -s -- -r asia
@lukast__ , thanks so much!! A great help!!
Wow the download speed in Asia is impressive but the upload speed is much slower
And the price is good
if you want much faster speed to asia try host-c. they have similar configurations/price.

Thanks @artxs !
Will check it out!
Hi @lukast__ I'm also interested in Layer7.net. Please, can you run the command for South America?
wget -qO- network-speed.xyz | bash -s -- -r sa
¡Thank you for your help and valuable time!
Running now...
👍 Thank you very much for your quick help 🏆
Any others has experience with Layer7.net to share?
Using it since last BF sales, they had two times network outage (no electronic problems so the VM won't restart) but it's totally acceptable due to the price of it(2C8G w IPV4 for 11EUR/yr), I've been deploy some dockers in it and no issue with that, the uptime is already more than 110days with only about 6-7hours network downtime
still available?
ive been using arround 2 months they are awesome the network is stable i really loves them by the way @layer7 and also MR. Oliver both of them are helpful And Smart They Build For This
100% Recommended
Oh wow.. 11eur...that's a great price indeed!
@lukast__
Hi,
that yabs numbers look crappy. We had some discussion with some users here in the forum in another thread about this and raised the IOPS quiet drastically leading to a big improvement of the IO performance.
Can you please open a ticket, and complain about this IOPS stuff? For sure the IO limits were not adjusted. We should change that.
@vahid9354
Thank you for pointing us on this thread!
@seoky
I bet you are located in the PAR1 location in france... in fact we have huge issues there with the VC1 cluster ( responsible for the MID CPU stuff ). The HIGH / Storage products are fine, running on another hardware.
There is some compatibility issue between the servers and the NVMe PCIe drives resulting in the nodes suddenly rebooting. The hardware was fine for many months, but when we joined here with the black friday event and the hardware received LET pressure the issue came to surface. We build some sick workaround to make it somehow work, but 1-2 hosts keep breaking down out of nothing. Same we had in our main location FRA1 but there we have much more hardware and thats already fixed with new hardware.
Luckily we will have now finally enough hardware together to change PAR1 location too. The plan is to change it during this month and then we will have finally the same stability like we have it in FRA1.
But in any way, if you experience downtime, you should definitely complain! Not only that you will point us on a problem that we might not know already, also you might benefit from some freebee's like a free month or something else if the problems are too long or sum up....
So please dont hesitate and push...
@hapkido
yes... worst deal ever ( for us )... but was only because of a mistake we had in our shop ( config option when you configure your product said there is no IPv4 included, while the product text in the shop indicated its included )... so we took the bullet and gave free IPv4 while they were actually not included... problem was fixed within 1-2 hours but even days later people opened tickets asking about the missing IPv4.... totally hell for us this black friday event
If there are questions, just ask, here or private!
Greetings
Oliver
Oh gosh..that's really bad cause of the ipv4 prices nowadays..
But it's really nice for you to honour them!
Ok so is selling their black Friday event VPS???? Haha...just joking..
The download speed looks great but the upload speed seems quite much lower based on the above yabs...hmm...but you mentioned it should be better?
Can you run the below on a Paris location mid CPU vps which the configuration is correct?
wget -qO- network-speed.xyz | bash -s -- -r asia
Very generous of you to keep giving those out, especially after fixing the listing. Looks like some people grabbed a great deal indeed.
Hi,
i have collected some numbers for you:
FRA1 Location via 10G:
FRA2 location via 10G:
DUS1 location via 1G:
PAR1 location via 10G:
IONOS location in GB via 1G:
what plan is this one?
Hi,
we did this "just" for 2 days or so. Just long enough to make sure that no one could seriously complain being miss leaded or so.
But of course that did not hold back people still asking and insisting for it... so we offered another deal and people could pay a total of 21,xx EUR /year and receive an IPv4 and a free 1 TB additional disk.
This way we somehow overcome this. Next time we will be more careful and being less bloody noob on tour
Thanks a lot, looks great
Hi,
thats this one:
PAR1 location:
https://login.layer7.net/index.php?rp=/store/cloud-server-mid-cpu-par1/cloud-server-mid-cpu-2cores-8gb-80gb-par1
or
FRA1 location:
https://login.layer7.net/index.php?rp=/store/cloud-server-mid-cpu-fra1/cloud-server-mid-cpu-2cores-8gb-80gb-fra1
During black friday event in november 2023 we had a quiet heavy discount down to 11,xx EUR without IPv4.
@layer7 your website shows DUS location with v6 plans only. Is there an option for v4 add-on?
Also, I see in your signature you are a RIPE LIR. Do you offer BGP sessions on your VPS?
Oh this deal is also great with the 1 free tb!!
Any upcoming promotion to offer this deal? 😜
