VPS Hosting in Azores Islands? Atlantic Ocean Location.

It seems to have fairly good ping from both EU and USA and would serve as nice middle ground between both continents in terms of ping, so it would be a fair location for game server tournaments.

no anti-ddos would be needed, as these servers would be private.

I wonder if there are any listings? Im aware that there are few datacenters in that area.

On the contary, there seems to be a direct cables between Azores and NA and EU

I also get 70ms to the UK (simple ping to a VPS I have in the North of England).

I believe the fiber connection goes through S. Miguel but this hop is very short. Obviously we don't have a direct connection to NA which is a big shame!

I am very happy (and was quite surprised at the beginning) at the quality of the line. I think I got an half an hour downtime in the last 2,5 years after a storm. I also have a massive battery bank (24Kwh) backed by solar panels so power is not an issue.

It would make more sense to host in UK then.

If you play with people in AU, US and EU together Seattle.

Did that a few times, brings down the ping to a usable 100-150ms.
