When @FlorinMarian sees this he will expand because there isn't room for this in his mom's broom closet datacenter.
Pictures will be posted on WHT during the 3-week installation.
Ok, since we are undergoing a ton of upgrades in our DC, and the setup now actually looks like porn from my point of view, her it is:
Guud sexy rack
Well it will look better, we contracted the whole rack, waiting for the upper customer to move out, he is a friend of ours, has 6 servers, I called him last week and told him: bro, you are in my rack, move out
We will rearrange the HP servers that are customer colo down, and fill it with 12 bay dell's for storage, then it will look sexy
The time OVH became a true "Cloud Company".
I just love those pics
I would actually rather trust the RO basement providers than what OVH did there.
I am afraid of fires myself and I only have 1 computer in the basement. Because there's a paper archive above it.
Every time I touch it something breaks, like a millennia old relic.
Looking at those pictures again, it was a disaster waiting to happen, ah man. It was a question of when rather of if.
@davide
I have a perfect Datacenter setup at a GOV basement here we redid last year.
All in the Archive as you say......
It took us 3 months to migrate all from "tower pc servers that were 10 years old to new ones "
10 points for who guesses what goes thru the pipes on the ceiling.

Where's Romanian basement? This is unacceptable
That's what I feel like is going on whenever I use Docker.
@Calin
Any porn basement pics? @Moopah needs it's RO Basement moment.
Yeah , its interesting to check UPS and network for small providers.

https://www.speedtest.net/result/15913289180
Poor speed , on romania receive 10 GBps port speed for 10-12$
Cheer up, things will get better, you just have to wait it out and work for it
10 gbps where I live in the US costs about $150 a month smh
yeah... my router is 100 mbit, the switch is 1gig
want a 10gb switch so my nas is bit faster, but not for now
germany aint cheap and i live in a bad (but cheap!) flat
poland is same with 500/1000mbit everywhere left and right
yeah, could be worse
for now only server upgrade thats soon is maybe storage
so far, so good with my home server
oh forgot to say, send internet my way thanks
What @Calin might not know, is that 10G is over RJ45 and over PPPOE with dynamic IP and a ton of nat on it.
10G is in RDS-RCS network, outside it is 1G. It is available in RO in a few cities beside the capital, and in some zones only.
A home does not need more than 300 MBPS with burst to 500 MBPS on a normal basis.
Is your main connection ?
Maybe these might help increasing your homelab speed
(If you are interested, you can pm me, I can tell you how to get 5€ sim-cards at Vodafone/O2 with unlimited bandwidth, it’s quite tricky though as they both come with restrictions)
Our First 1/2 Rack when we launched
New Juniper Switches we upgraded to last month
New Full Rack we stood up this past Friday
Direct Fiber to servers we started to deploy to all dedi customers
For Germany that’s actually a good speed for that price lol
Looks nice
