B2B Hosting Contracts

Hi Community!

I've been using quite a number of services from many of the hosting firms, for my individual use, as a customer.

However, I've recently taken up a task of migrating an existing hosting framework of a Small Business Entity. I suppose hosts treat B2B services separately from the individual customer-centric ones, specially when it comes to SLAs/ToS, invoicing scheme, etc.

I need to understand:

  1. If my supposition of hosts having separate plans & services for B2B is correct.

  2. How do these agreements work? Is there a custom quote based on the requirements? Couldn't find B2B sales plans on host websites, as such. [Tried @OVH_APAC, BuyVM @Francisco, and a few more]

  3. Any hosting services which handle B2B contracts, that you may please suggest. I'm basically looking for a Dedi/VPS solution to migrate to, specifically in the EU/Singapore region. Presently hosted on Leaseweb.

Kind regards.

Usually all B2B services are treated as custom plans (at least by us). That's why (usually) we do not display any special plans or info on our websites, since it's to be discussed with the customer.

If you need something in NL/NY, I may be able to help you. Feel free to shoot me a DM. :)

Hosts you'll find on here don't typically advertise a B2B catered solution, everything is sold as is on the website. What you can do though is contact them directly as you did with fran and ask for more personalised support, greater SLA coverage, guaranteed response times and much more, but of course for a price. This should fit your customer's needs if they're looking for something custom catered (not taking into account their computational requirement).

B2B centric providers would most likely be the datacenter directly, like say equinix.com, or an IT consulting / management firm. Hope I could be of some help.

  • Personally, I think it seems like a better approach for you to set up a company, and then purchase hardware from those other merchants, and resell it, and set your own prices for the service, and payout criteria.

When you get to a certain size, you can also talk to your upstream businesses about additional business support.

Actually the small business firm I mentioned isn't an IT related business at all. It's into something else. And they don't resell IT services either.
