Are there any other comparable products that have a desktop version?
Authy Desktop Alternatives
If you are unable to use the Authy mobile apps, we recommend you look in to alternative desktop products such as the following suggestions:
https://authenticator.cc/
https://steptwo.app/
https://secrets.app/
https://keepassxc.org/
https://support.1password.com/one-time-passwords/
this sad, i need authy desktop. will those alternatives works with authy ?.
If you use Mac with Silicon, you can install iPad version from app store
I think every computer uses silicon of some kind

No as Export features does not work on Authy or its restricted but there is some info in github you can export your tokens and import to others apps like 2FAS android which also has extension for chrome browser.
But if you are using Authy , simply go to desktop and enable backup it will backup the tokens and sync to all devices accross. So when you have on android then you can use it on mobile devices . For desktop Authy will be EOL in March 2024. so the alternatives recommended by Authy or others in chat you can checkout that options too.
Thanks for share good information.
That's sad it's at EOL for desktop. Hopefully they just don't bring down that for mobile app.
I transitioned to Zoho OneAuth.

Works for my usecase.. desktop and mobile apps in sync.
Authy still working for me on desktop
Yeah I don't get 2FA if it's on your desktop, I know Bitwarden, 1password and others push it as a convenience... But if I do run and grab of your laptop in a coffee shop then I have all I need to take over your accounts, much harder to do a run and grab of your both your phone and laptop.. Then again I see clowns nip the toilet or out for a cigarette leaving their laptop unlocked so perhaps there is always much easier prey out there..
Self hosted bitwarden has 2FA/OTP.
If you pay for the premium bitwarden $10/yr, you also get OTP.
They have app for browser extensions, mobile devices, windows and mac.
This is the windows desktop version.
It is not pretty, but it works good.
Correct, but it's not just aesthetics, a lot of UI (location of buttons and workflow) violates "dont make me think" principles. They also don't produce ARM64 builds or packages. But for the price, difficult to complain.
I am transitioning from Authy to Yubikey Authenticator. 2FAS and Ente Auth is pretty good. Bitwarden TOTP is good too.
They have desktop versions?
Their desktop version has the same functionality as Authy Desktop? (And are trustworthy?)
Which one are you referring to?
Any of the ones you mentioned. Yubikey Authenticator, 2FAS and Ente Auth.
Thats a loaded q imho.... trust is a variable term. Zoho has been around for quite some time in the Enterprise space. Most offerings like twilio/ zoho are closed source so I treat them equally.
HTH
Yubikey Authenticator - Yes, also it requires you to have an Yubikey of course.
2FAS - Browser only
Ente - Yes
