Separate email and shared hosting

SocheatSocheat Member

Hi everyone

I want to buy a new shared hosting, but want to keep my mail box hosted with MxRoute. What needed to be changed, and what didn't? For reference, my domain is hosted with Porkbun, and currently using Porkbun's own nameservers.

Thanks for any helps that you could provide.

    DNS:

    • in case of keep using Porkbun nameservers:

      • just A and AAAA point your new host
    • in case of turn to use shared hosting provider's nameservers:

      • copy records to new nameserver:
        • MX
        • TXT related to SPF/DKIM/DMARC
        • CNAME if you using webmail subdomain on MXroute

    website development:

    • use MXroute SMTP instead of sendmail (e.g. use plugin like WP Mail SMTP on WordPress)

Thanks for your comment. I'll keep that in mind.
