They are fine. In fact for a price (budget KVM sale and premium KVM sale) most likely among the best.
I prefer not to have more than 3 VPSes with the same host, but in this particular case ...

Decent network, decent non heavily oversold hardware, decent uptime ... and also support usually responds quickly.

I have a greencloud KVM VPS which I replaced with another offer with more disk space
I no longer use it but I'm having a hard time deciding to transfer it because it's so good.

Here's the uptime from one of mine with GreenCloudVPS:

The 57 minute uptime was me moving this system to a larger GreenCloud VPS (shut down, Clonezilla over the network, boot up new system, update DNS to point to the new system).

Once you subtract that, there's only been 8 minutes downtime in ~ 1 year 2 months.

Their support is absolutely amazing. Usually replies in less than 15 minutes, to the point where I can leave a browser tab open with the ticket, work on something else for a little bit, refresh the ticket, and it'll usually have a reply.

Good experience so far. Support responds promptly and resolves issues within a reasonable timeframe.

They ask for photo ID which might be a dealbreaker for some.

Any vps transfer to or from me via a support ticket has taken less than literally 5 minutes. There support is pretty spot on indeed. Had no technical difficulties so far in years of having gcvps.

I know, TOS ... but they actually allow it as long your usage isn't problematic.

"We do allow bots, so Discord is fine. In most cases IRC should be fine too if it does not attract too many DDoS attacks."

I run IRC bouncer and good ol' eggdrop with channel gseen module for a quite some time now.
They won't bother you as long your usage doesn't cause problems however if you expect attacks (which are rare nowadays at IRC anyway) then it may be not a good idea to use this host for IRC.
So as a conclusion use common sense and you will be fine :)

Don't be silly. IRC usage uses practically zero resources. It's like idle VPS. You can only hope for neighbours like me.

Besides that IRC use does not expose you to the abuse risk as it was two decades or something ago. People nowadays there mostly chat and idle.
There's a way bigger risk that your personal blog will get ddos than you hanging among old dinosaurs at internet relay chat. Unless you're extremely problematic, pissing around people, etc - but this applies to every potential VPS usage anyway.
Not to mention that apart from the two old sleepy dinosaurs (EFnet and IRCnet) most of the modern IRC servers and networks mask visitors' IPs, support channel and nickname registrations (so no take/overs anymore) and so on ... You will find mostly us, old farts, there. Skids use other platforms like Discord today.

Well, it also depends on which network you're on, what channels you're in and who's around you.

But it's somewhat safe nowadays, unlike before, where it's simply "talk shit, get hit", kind of situation.

Not to mention, the days when servers and networks were really put to the "test" the moment they're in trial link

    That's true.

I'm still on both, but mostly chilling with the old-timers, in private channels.

    which one GreenCloud or GreenCloudVPS

  • I have a budget VPS with them which I use as mail server and it's been rock solid. Support is also very quick in my experience. GC is among the companies I trust the most.

During their birthday sale, they allowed existing customers to apply the promotion (double RAM + bandwidth) to their current "Budget KVM" and "Premium KVM" services as long as they renewed for another 3 years.

I don't know of any other provider in their price range that has allowed customers to apply a new promotion to an existing server.

  • One of the best and high availability VPS provider here I must say for SG, UK, US locations which I have in.

And support is fast, u send, u don't have to worry nobody reply, u will get it real quick.

If you don't get your issue resolved immediately but at least you know someone is always there to reply and work on your issue. Thanks @NDTN !
