Looking to start a SeedBox hosting company

Does anyone know what seedbox companies use for 1-click app installs? I'm looking to start a company that offers seedbox hosting as well and am having trouble finding one. I found QuickBox but I don't think that is for selling hosting.

You need a billing system and the script, since you dunno what you're doing.
QuickBox https://quickbox.io/ and Swizzin https://swizzin.ltd/ is the simplest for you.

As far as I'm aware QuickBox is not an option now, reports of all users being locked out of their panels as the owner (one of?) has gone non-responsive and not paid some bills. Swizzin still works well though.

I see, I've never used QuickBox pro, only the community edition and it does look like it's dead. https://github.com/QuickBox/QB

As far as I'm aware it's pretty recent. Some people joined the swizzin discord reporting being locked out of their QB panels, including Pro users who were paying.

edit: Some of it seems to have been restored it seems, but worth having a read of the recent events that some users have posted on there, not ideal.

Quickbox Pro is basically dead with JMSolo having lost interest completely.

Yesterday, API server went down and people got locked out of their boxes due to DRM in the seedbox script.

Massive exodus ongoing to Swizzin and Saltbox, but most people will likely move after xmas.

One person owns the keys and is paranoid of his own devs stealing the content, so a lot of people already left from the dev team. It's essentially dead, and new installs fail.

  • To build a seedbox for chickens, you'll need a few materials and follow some basic steps. Here's a general guide to help you get started:

    Materials needed:

Wooden boards or plywood for the box structure
Nails or screws to assemble the box
    Mesh or wire for ventilation
Hinges and latches for the lid
Straw or wood shavings for bedding
Seeds or grains for the chickens

    Steps to build a seedbox:

Determine the size of the seedbox based on the number of chickens you have and the space available. A typical seedbox can be around 2-3 feet long, 1-2 feet wide, and 1-2 feet tall.

Cut the wooden boards or plywood according to the desired dimensions for the box. Make sure to have a bottom, four sides, and a lid.

Assemble the box using nails or screws. Ensure that the structure is sturdy and secure.

Create ventilation by attaching mesh or wire to one or more sides of the box. This will allow air circulation while keeping the seeds inside.

Attach hinges and latches to the lid, so you can easily open and close it for filling and cleaning.

Fill the seedbox with straw or wood shavings as bedding material. This will provide a comfortable surface for the chickens and help absorb moisture.

Add seeds or grains into the seedbox. You can choose a variety of seeds, such as wheat, barley, or sunflower seeds, depending on your chickens' dietary needs.

Remember, this is a basic guide, and you may need to adjust the dimensions and materials based on your specific requirements. It's also important to regularly clean and refill the seedbox to maintain hygiene for your chickens. If you have any further questions or need more guidance, feel free to open yet another thread instead of reading existing information!

For the OPs @retali8 question, our mgmt software has always been fully FOSS: https://github.com/MagnaCapax/PMSS

    Pre github history: https://wiki.pulsedmedia.com/index.php/PM_Software_Stack
    (Some) Documentation: https://wiki.pulsedmedia.com/index.php/Category:PM_Software_Stack_Guides

There's even whitelabeling buried deep into the source you can find to whitelabel it.

You can freely use it. You can even submit on github enhancements to whitelabeling as per your needs, as long as those doesn't break anything.

It's all built for mass production and automation.
Tho the special sauce is in the backend, and that costs money. We did do a bunch of prep like ... a decade ago for your kind of use case, but nothing's been maintained due to low requests (no moolah, no maintenance) but if you got what's needed (deep pockets) that all might be brought back. But as usual; We will prioritize our needs.

  • Completed upgrades for three forums last night, encountering minimal issues, mainly with a custom theme on one forum (not SMF's fault). One more upgrade remains, excluding a few test boards, which I'll address soon. Kudos to the SMF team for ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

TL:DR JMSolo forgot to renew some API/DRM server, and everyone's servers were basically locked out since theres some kind of DRM that makes your self hosted server lag out so its basically unusable.

The other staff members fixed it somehow temporarily, but nobody knew of such DRM, and these issues can happen again, so people are leaving.

Interesting. I feel that Swizzin will start charging for license soon. Because why not?
