Looking for 40TB+ Storage
Hey,
we're looking for a storage solution with following specs.
Storage: min. 40T raw storage
Location: preferably in Germany or at least around Ger
Dedicated or Storage Box: any
CPU: min. 4 if dedi
RAM: min. 8 if dedi
Bandwith: ~20T
Budget: 140€
Payment: monthly (we can switch later to quarterly or yearly)
At the moment we've two Hetzner Storage Boxes with 2x 20T in mind, which will cost us 96,62€ (incl. VAT) -> 2,42€/TB.
Alternatively we have the following options in our hand:
- Dedicated Hetzner SX64 root server with 4*16T for 96,75€ (incl. VAT) which would bring us ~48T raw storage -> 2,02 €/TB
- IDrive E2 Object Storage with 50T for 750$ 1st year (yearly payment) -> 1,25 $/TB / after 1st year -> 2,5 $/TB
We are open to other offers, which could bring us more value than the ones we've found so far.

Finland and USA should be fine. But we'd have to test the speed before we consider those locations.
Do you also have an offer for more than 40TB? What would we get for 100€?
Also is that 40T Raw?
We would have to manage 4-5 server only to get our desired storage. That's a bit too much overhead in my opinion.
Also we will only be accessing the storage from inside germany, so globally spread storage is not our first prio. But we'll keep that in mind, thanks.

I assume that's not 60TB raw storage? If so, that's more expensive (2,88 €/TB) than the managed hetzner storage.
Same as above. Looks more expensive than our existing options. And for 176€ we would be getting an auctioned server at Hetzner with 10x10TB HDDs.

We can create a custom plan for you (40 TB or 50 TB). With the 50% discount it goes to $1.25/TB/mo if I did the math correctly.
We will also post a BF offer for dedicated storage servers in USA: 48TB up to 1 PB.
Better contact us to discuss all the options as LET is slow currently and gives random errors.

It's 40000 / 55000 GB unpartitioned, so you'd lose a bit due to the filesystem once partitioned.
It depends on how would you use/mount it as a RAID or non, since you can install the OS on the first NVMe drive and then other disk mount as /home or whatsoever.
Since if you use as Raid0 you will get 55TB+-...
Ah fair - I just checked and yes, you get more disk. CPU however is much lower. (might not be a problem for you, just a difference I noticed)
I actually realised I made a mistake on mine, its actually 2 x Intel Xeon E5-2650L v3, hence 24 cores.

So, I can provide S3 compatible 40TB object storage (RAID 6) with 40 TB (shared 5Gbps port) bandwidth at $90/month (around 74 euro). You do not have to make quarterly payment, monthly payment is fine. Payment will be over paypal. If you require it, DM within 36 hours or else I have some other use case of that storage in my mind.
Basically, $2/TB with peace of mind.

@dypsis Needs 40TB of usable storage. Using RAID 6 with 4x10TB disks will not give 40TB of usable disk.
