[NL] Black Friday to Cyber Monday deals || NVME VPS plans and NVME Shared and Reseller Webhosting!

  • I have a website (Flarum) with little traffic, using HestiaCP. I don't host images, just the Flarum files and the database. So, is 10GB NvME (2023BF-NVME-1) enough space to install Debian and host a single website with Flarum software? In the future, if I need more space, will I be able to migrate to 2023BF-NVME-2?

any chance of offering image backups plz?

Hi, in most cases this should work. You can always upgrade to the larger version indeed.

  • @LiteServer said:
We stopped offering large scale HDD offerings during Black Friday 2023 because of this. People keep running benchmarks, go full throttle on the IO all at the same time, and still expect SSD performance for a HDD service without understanding the HDD technique and load situation. The arrays are being flooded with random IO done by VMs, and that's something HDD drives don't like as they can do only 1 read/write at a time.
We did some last minute HDD specials during Black Friday as people where begging for storage plans, but 2023 was actually the first year we considered not doing any HDD storage deal at all.

Based on feedback/complaints and unrealistic expectations, I think we really should consider stop offering HDD storage deals for Black Friday at all from now. But we'll have a thought about it - we have almost 12 months left for Black Friday 2024 :#

I've been using both the nvme and storage vps for years, and I'm pretty satisfied with both. A bit average satisfaction on the storage one, but very very satisfied for the nvme ones, enough to have production services on both with how prem your service is

If I make a suggestion for the storage VPS line, I think the main issue is that the OS is running on the limited drives as well, which makes for a bad experience. Similar services either have SSD-cached drives or a fast boot drive with mounted HDD storage. There shouldn't be an issue with even severely limited IO with a decent speed boot drive if the BF deals are meant for cold storage.

I know it's not an easy change to make from your end, but it's just a suggestion on how you can improve on the storage line. Personally, I'm more than impressed every year with how better the nvme ones are getting every year, but it's pretty clear there's little change with the storage VPS offers every year.

DDoS protection will become available at a later moment, it's on our roadmap.
For now, you'll have to use a firewall on your VPS to block traffic.

  • @LiteServer said: It doesn't really help either if people keep running benchmarks all the time, as this would make things just worse.

I suggest creating the virtual machine at different intervals to distribute the load caused by people running benchmarks as soon as they receive their machines.

Yes, and you're using a fake profile to purchase their services.

  • They are ok with it. Btw, did you improve iq since the last conversation? :D any progress

Where did they say they're ok with fake profiles lol? As said earlier in the other thread, your logic is dumb, and I don't want to discuss anything with a self-proclaimed smart ass.

They may have an Xmas sale later this month according to every past year, but the discount may not be similar to BFD. Otherwise, you have to wait for BFD 2024.

This makes me hesitate to renew my servers from last BF, despite they are running just perfectly throughout the year. Can't wait to see what's available this time!
