    Hey @labze,

    Invoice #: 14632

Thank you for 10% cashback, 50% more bandwidth and 3x backup slots! You're very generous!
I promise not to use backup slots, but lemme have it so I can brag to friends.

BTW, I checked that box 'cause I really have read and agree with 404 Not Found, BEST TOS EVER!
J/K of course, you might wanna check and fix that...

I think @labze has forgotten about me! No freebies applied to either of my two machines :(

BF is a busy time for providers lol

Don't be so impatient. Labze won't miss anyone; he just wants to handle everything at once. Clearly, he has more important matters to attend to right now. :)

Indeed, yesterday was a bit more chaotic than anticipated. Lots of lessons learned already on what not to do :D

    Can you share some stories?

Its just administrative stuff. I took a shortcut in not making IPv6 only plans but it bites my butt handling it manually instead.

    Invoice # 14861

To save you the work I didn't order IPv6-only :D (And, alas, my BF budget wasn't as large as I would have liked this year or I would have easily paid for a year of the 16 TB at once...)

I wanted to say thank you for providing the best storage pricing out there this year. Way too many posts this year where "storage" is like 1 TB or even 500 GB. To put 500 GB in context, that is only a few (actual) Linux DVD ISOs. Some like openSUSE try to stay within 4.7 GB, while others say "no one's actually burning an ISO in 2023 but we should stay within dual-layer limits (but barely!) to help people speed up their installs and not need to be online as soon". I'm not necessarily advocating backing up any single large files, but that's the context of how small 500 GB feels these days!

Also thank you for not being one of the providers who only provided large storage deals as flash deals ("16 TB storage VPS but there's only 3 lolol now go fight!").

    Invoice handled :)

Thanks for the appreciation. The reception on the deals has been great. It took me quite a while to figure out how to create something awesome but also sustainable.

    Thanked by 1lewellyn

I for sure have missed some people, so ping me if you feel overseen. For now to my tired eyes it looks like I've been through the comments.

Thank you for the 10% cashback, but i noticed the promised extras of 50% more bandwidth and 3x backup slots haven't been provided.

    Invoice #14680

  • Anyone else having IPv4 connectivity issues with their deals? I got a Hybrid Storage in Finland and I can't reach it via IPv4 (no route to host) and it can't reach out either. I tried a reboot already but no luck. And the boot process struck me as looking slightly off via VNC, but that could be any number of things...

I, obviously, opened a ticket earlier. But I am curious if this is more widespread than just me and if I'm going to need to exercise a lot of patience.

I believe yours is the only who has this issue. It is likely that there's a misconfigured IP in the subnet. I will be replacing your IP to see if that solves it.

  • Looks like I was also missed, so reposting.

Thanks for more bandwidth and 3x backup slots again.

I expect a 10% refund and the extras offered.

  • @labze @lewellyn - I also had networking issues - it turned out it didn't set gateway. After guessing a sensible IP for a gateway it seems to work now

I believe there is a OpenSUSE template error. Don't know if that is the OS you used too.

OK so based on the information provided, if I set my gateway in /etc/sysconfig using what's available in the web UI, I should be good to go? It was getting quite late and I wasn't interested in poking further and didn't get that far :)

I think that should be the case. Do let me know if that does not resolve the issue.

    Ohhh...Blessed Birthday @labze! Have a good one!!! Cheers! B)

  • labze is pretty chill, loved his private interaction on DMs, made me a great offer, put absolutely no pressure. A cool dude overall.

Still hanging on choosing a provider here. Greencloud has amazing deals for weak EPYC rome processors, but damn they're either far away or in the US/UK, the bad boys of the 5 eyes.

Yes he is and value his new and current customers.

If location and specs are ok, I think it's no brainer what to do next!

Weirdly, my ifroute-eth0 looked correct. But a reboot broke things altogether, yay! \o/

I updated my ticket with as much info as I can get as I can't SSH in at all now.

I think the openSUSE template is indeed in some kind of error state... And they aren't very open as to much about their templates to non-paying-customer types, which is probably my biggest complaint about VirtFusion vs the competition, as a customer. I may not be the one who directly pays them, but me having confidence in their product makes me more likely to seek it out. And even Virtualizor (remember that, folks!?) was very open about their OS template selection.

I don't know where you're located, but if you're in the USA, you're safer from those eyes by keeping your data within the country. It's harder for them to use signals intelligence against citizens when it's collected on home soil, thanks to the Constitution.

But that discussion aside, SSH latency is quite good to HostBrr in Finland from the USA. :)

  • how long does it take to provision?

Happy birthday. I like your service, so I'll be happy if you add a bit extra amount on my invoice this month and buy yourself a beer (or something you like) with that.

  • Happy birthday, labze! Thanks for great service, and for great support!

  • Happy Birthday sir. And a quick note to say this service continues to be a great value. I wish I had started here instead of throwing my good money at other "good deals".

Anyone reading... HostBRR is the real deal.
