  • I'm curious, how exposed are hosts to dmca for these file sharing sites? If you just comply with requests is it a non issue or does it impact your data center contract or anything?

Either sanctioned country or they just bank using crypto, using crypto isn't suspicious by itself. I'm more interested in why they're running a large storage array on fucking windows honestly, that's probably the absolute worst choice for this.

We collect all our backup by some software over FTP from servers.

So... Pardon my question... Software ftp runs only on windows?
That's interesting.... I do all my backup thru rsync...

I know it's not what your looking at, but surely a Synology NAS would be better, or some S3 / rsync.net storage for 100TB.

We have a 24TB synology NAS colocated for backup purposes.
