RIP Omegle - 14 years of journey comes to an end

Unfortunately, what is right doesn’t always prevail. As much as I wish circumstances were different, the stress and expense of this fight – coupled with the existing stress and expense of operating Omegle, and fighting its misuse – are simply too much. Operating Omegle is no longer sustainable, financially nor psychologically. Frankly, I don’t want to have a heart attack in my 30s.
The battle for Omegle has been lost, but the war against the Internet rages on. Virtually every online communication service has been subject to the same kinds of attack as Omegle; and while some of them are much larger companies with much greater resources, they all have their breaking point somewhere. I worry that, unless the tide turns soon, the Internet I fell in love with may cease to exist, and in its place, we will have something closer to a souped-up version of TV – focused largely on passive consumption, with much less opportunity for active participation and genuine human connection
RIP Omegle. I used this site to talk with random strangers around the world. It was fun to meet like-minded or totally opposite kind of people.

Imagine, its even considered trendy.
Sure I had fun with my friends talking to group of randoms in costumes, but every now and then we had to skip the guys with dicks in the open. It was too easily abused by people who should use different websites for their personal nude shows. I can only imagine these fucks enjoyed the reactions of random people who had to skip it to get chat with next one.

You click a button, your webcam goes on, and you get matched with another person who clicked the same button. then you stare each others and maybe talk something.
If you keep staring each others and you or the other person does not seem to want to continue, you or they can click the button again to get matched with the next one.
Rinse and repeat.
"Omegle trolling" is a hundred billion views category in Youtube.
Totally agree, Omegle was used by a lot of creeps and even if I like the idea the implementation was just lazy and poorly done.
But still, it kind of bugs me that it's gone. I understand where @JasonM comes from here. The Internet should be an open place where you could run stupid stuff like Omegle.
F*ck, I sound like an old man, but I miss the good old days when you could run totally useless services that where free for all to use, just for fun. It feels like today everything is either abused to hell or canceled by an army of sjw's and snowflakes.
I was never a fan of Omegle itself, but I was a fan of an internet where sites like Omegle could exist.
