Poor Network Speed from JP VPS to Asia Region?
I just wanted to get some thoughts on this network speed test from a JP located VPS service to Asia region. The VPS is a 10G fair use port. Speeds seem very poor to Asia region outside of Japan, but I'm not very familiar with the Asian market, so please weigh in your thoughts.
ps - can someone also share with me how to best share yabs results? copy paste did not keep nice formatting, but most people don't seem to use image like I have

Is there a particular country you are targeting?
What is the use case to have full pipe open?
The speed tests are subjective to a person. Without much information it will be difficult to gage what is happening and whether this is good or not.
Write three backticks above and below:
no real target country, just asia region in general. used as cloud storage service for friends & family in asia region. but as I said I'm new to asian markets so perhaps JP located was not correct for my use case
Don't go by these speed tests. It all depends on the ISP of your friends and family. If they have good peering with your provider or not.
Also if their plan or speed doesn't even match what your provider has, it's a moot point to even see the speed tests.
These tests are very indicative of the connectivity between your server and other speed test settings.
I would say, use it for what you intend to, and then decide if this is working out or not
Good luck
yes, this is probably the best advice. thank you for your thoughts and explanations
I'd suggest you contact support. Something looks off, I have a VPS with Virmach (which uses xTom) with just 1G and its giving better performance than your above result.
mmm, on paper, speeds look better using network-speed.xyz:
Well, I'm in Japan, and Japanese network services are widely used, and connecting to other countries requires a lot of investment. Connections with the US are somewhat strong, but in other regions you may not be able to expect fast transfers as they pass through several countries. It's best not to expect too much high spec when connecting to Japan. There's a big traffic jam there.
xTom is optimized for mainland China.
network-speed.xyz uses official cli app (ookla).
bench.monster uses unofficial python script (github).
thanks everyone for helping me out. this community
