Low end VPS in Asia (SP?) lots of bandwidth. Contabo alternatives?
Hi everybody, I'm sort of new to buying VPSes.
I would like a low end VPS in Asia around the $5-6 USD/EUR range.
With LOTS of bandwidth, and a good track record as a company.
It seems Contabo is a possible option.
Are there competitors or alternatives I should know about?
Thanks

no not really no competitors. contabo gives high bandwidth in asia unlike anyone else. $5 won't get you anything.
Considering your budget, location and bandwidth requirements, Contabo is probably your only option - and maybe OVH.
Or else, this is what you can get with $5 around here

You had to share my wimpy 750GB BW plan 🤣
But really, even OVH is limited to like 1-2 TB/mo. Contabo really is giving a great deal in Asia. Unheard of.
The unbelievable thing is, they had a 2.99 euro offer for Asia for a while (well, maybe 4.5 euro with the extra fee). I am really not a shill! Just shopping around.
It's sort of surprising how this market is kind of unefficient sometimes.
It'll also be interesting to see what Hivevelocity announces soon.
If bandwidth is your main concern, try Indonesia. Many providers offer unmetered packages, but the international speed is generally poor.
Example: https://kangserver.id/benchmark-vps-biznetgio-neo-lite-1-core-intel-2gb-ram-id-75k-idr-2023/
The second location might be Vietnam. @NDTN offers this location, but it is currently out of stock. I would love to try the Vietnam location as well.
I think this is the highest you can get, aside from Contabo. 2TB is generous enough, Most common one is 1TB for less than 5 USD, especially in SG location.
Just incase someone want try using indonesia provider, make sure ask support first regarding your usage. Some provider can instant suspend your VPS If you blast their International port speed.
You can use WORLDBUS CLOUD services in Turkey and I am sure you will be fully satisfied.
A lot of traffic is usually limited by the speed of the port.
Whats LOTS of Bandwidth roughly? How much do you use on a monthly basis?
We have VM's and Dedicated Servers in Hong Kong - and work with multiple providers for bandwidth needs. Depending on how much you need (and where to as well - e.g. Local in HK? International? Mainland China specifically?) we could recommend one over the other and work something out.
Our NAT VM's have good bandwidth capability and get used frequently by customers for streaming purposes. Monthly cost is pretty low depending on the VM spec.
Some of the plans are listed on the "Promotions" tab on mlnl.host, happy to work with you if you need something more custom too.
Try G-Core Labs or Melbicom. Stable companies with long history so far.
Elaborating on that can help others help you
OP asked for Asia... not EU
For that price range I'd suggest going for our NAT VPS in Hong Kong - Bandwidth shouldn't be an issue and overall connectivity is good as we use HKT, so latency to China is good too.
Plans start at 5 USD/month, discounted if you pre-pay e.g. 12 months comes out at 50/year so ~4.2/month.
if you can increase your budget to 11USD per month. You can get a VM with 5TB of data in Manila from CloudSigma.
Thank you for reminding! Turkey is a transcontinental country located at the juncture of Southeast Europe and West Asia. Therefore, as an intercontinental hub, it is potentially placed at the European/Asian common point and can be used for both purposes.
Hi, feel free to check our vps offers at SG, https://xeroz.tech/vps.html. Do know that we charge a extra 2.50EUR for SG on the payment website.
Have you got an up-to-date looking glass for these? Last time I tried, about a year ago maybe more, I recall not getting very good transfer rates on the 10MB and 100MB test files so I'd like to try again.
Sure, you can use http://nat0.mlnl.host:4301/.
Its a 1Gbit line but is shared, so results could vary based on time of day / congestion. We do offer a Premium NAT option which is shared with much less customers, and Dedicated 1Gbit lines which some customers opt for.
I've just ran a test on a VM now focused on China, to give you an idea:
