    Can you give a summary?

  • Summary

An individual who goes by the alias's 'Dex Bolt','Dex Powers' is advertising web development services via websites where you can hire local services and professionals to carry out works for you. In Dex's case, he advertises his professional web development skills and services and is targeting small business operators, usually sole traders and family partnerships who are in need of urgent web design, rebuilds.

Dex's MO is to socially engineer his victims into agreeing to add a 'payments' function to their website, and as such, requests his victims to hand over their photo ID's, Bank Statements, Utility Bills and so on...the required 100 points of ID required to set-up a functioning merchant facility which he then uses to process fraudulent transactions with stolen credit card/bank account details. The settlement of these funds will go directly back to Dex as he will set-up bank accounts in his victims names with their stolen identities. He will also ask his victims for an upfront deposit to begin work on their website, but will never get around to finishing what he started and it just about ll cases, will request additional funds to finalise the website build. He will also ask you or your email credentials and convince you this is required as part of the new web build. Once he has this he basically takes over your identity and will impersonate you.

Dex has been operating for many many years, has been to Jail on a couple of occasions but is now free to continue his scamming ways on unsuspecting and hard working Australian's. Dex's real name is 'Grant Lambden' and is well know to the police who are currently investigating this recent spate of fraud and identify theft.

Please be aware of the following websites and please remember, if a web developer asks you for your ID to conduct work. This is highly unusual and absolutely illegal. If you require a payments function on your website, deal directly with the payment facilitator or a verified partner of said payment facilitator.

Current email addresses used by Dex as as follows:-
    [email protected]
    [email protected]
    [email protected]

    Current Business Names he uses:-
    Nerds4Me
    MyGurus

Dex requests you to send ID via this link : https://mygurus.au/myguru-kyc/ This is illegal. Do NOT upload any documents or submit any personal information into this website!!

Please be vigilant people . This guy needs to be caught again and locked up!!

    Stay Safe!!
