Directory on LVM

I'm setting up a new server to run Virtualizor (KVM VMs), and I plan to use directory storage (because it's easier to manipulate files). I've been comparing it to the default installation of Proxmox that OVH's panel offers.

The default Proxmox installation creates an Ext4 file system on a directory mounted on LVM. I've been contemplating whether it would be beneficial to do the same for Virtualizor. Is it a good idea to mount storage on LVM for qcow2 files?

In general, it is a good idea. LVM is easy to resize and provides dynamic allocation of storage space, and it has other useful functions like fast snapshots for backups. But, as far as I know, Virtualizator currently doesn't use snapshots for backups, and that somehow affects the usability of LVM in this context. However you are still able to create snapshots manually.
