HAZI.ro | Reorganization of storage packages

FlorinMarianFlorinMarian Member, Host Rep

Hi!

Since until now we had hybrid packages when it came to storage (a lot of RAM and CPU in a package with storage capacity), we rethought the situation so that the storage servers focus only on storage, with VPS SSD servers taking care of RAM and CPU.

With this restructuring, we can afford to reduce the price, as follows:)

Products

- CPU: 1x vCPU 2.40GHz ↗ 3.30GHz
- Memory: 1GB DDR4 ECC
- Storage: SSD 60GB

- Free Backups: Yes (Daily)
- Fast and Reliable! Ideal for small projects and personal websites.

    This does not make sense.
Focus on storage => no need for dedicated IPv4.
Make IPv4 a paid add-on and reduce base price further.
Also, provide free bandwidth between SSD and storage VPS at the same location.

    That can be done easily.
    Thanks for your suggestion, brother!

  • You could also consider providing NAT storage for lower costs.

Possibly, but the chance of abuse is too great.
A relatively safe way to offer NAT storage is allowing only one incoming port for SFTP access, with outgoing flows blocked.
Anyone who wants more than this has to pay for dedicated IPv4.

I thought bro no longer cares too much about abuse after advertising some of them as VPN friendly servers

We have less than 12 abuses per year (counting last months), so I can’t agree with that VPN => abuse.

It really depends on the client. Not the service he has.

  • pls provide NAT server with even more discount.

    Hey!

We have added the option to remove IPv4 and stay with IPv6, thus remaining only with IPv6, but be careful, for IPv4 we do not offer NAT either!

After these changes, 1TB Storage servers start from 3 EUR/month and SSD ones from 2.15 EUR/month.

    @FlorinMarian

what's the point to use ipv6-only server if need to connect other ipv4 sites? Where is the link to the ones of 2.15EUR.

Also can you provide paypal option.

No PayPal and you can apply IP config choosing any server (including the one at 3.15).
We won’t give privacy & PayPal at the same time, it didn’t work for us.

as I told you 2 monts ago, invest 15k+ euro to sell 2 euro/m vps servers.

18K+ but I don’t care, this investment is my hobby, not my main source of income.
Also, I don’t have lot of added value to be able to request more money.

The main use case for IPv6-only server is when you purchase multiple servers at the same location.

    • You should order a "primary" SSD server with IPv4.
    • You can order additional SSD/storage servers without IPv4.
    • IPv6-only servers can access IPv4 sites by tunnelling through the "primary" server.

    See tutorial here: https://yoursunny.com/t/2020/EUserv-IPv4/

Good point, I think we will have another approach here, 6to4 for our clients, I'm gonna meditate on this.

But man is BGP propagating slow...........

    Hey!
We received a very good offer from our hardware supplier and we will probably move the entire infrastructure from SATA SSDs to PCIe SSDs in a short time (also E5 CPUs to Intel Gold).
Therefore, the 3 nodes that we currently keep closed, can be sold to clients who need a lot of resources. (we also accept resellers)

    Quantity: 3
    Specifications:
    2x E5-2680 v4
    192GB RAM DDR4 2400MHz
    6x Intel S3510 SSD 1.2TB
    2x 1Gbps LACP (1Gbps best-effort connection)
    ILO access
    Monthly traffic: 50TB
    Price: 115 EUR/month (VAT included)

Optionally we can offer additional IP addresses at the rate of 1 EUR per IP.

Soon we will upgrade to 5Gbps guaranteed.

  • Upgrades... more chance to failures, fatal data loss and downtime. Don't!

They were not customer grade, we haven't been using anything like that for a very long time (only our first SSDs were from the Samsung EVO range).
These NVMe SSDs were from NetApp, from the enterprise range.

Unless these come with NetApp's firmware and are locked to NetApp's firmware. It's really hit/miss with NetApp drives, as sometimes they can't be flashed to stock firmware, even if they are formatted to 512e, they come with all sorts of problems.

True, but if you pass that, they do work grate. We have a ton of SAS Netapp drives + shelves used this way.

Formatting a 12TB drive, well, it take days

We've had our fair share of netapp parts as well, but again - it's not the low-level formatting, which can be done in parallel, the bigger problem is the proprietary firmware and firmware locks. If you can flash the firmware to stock, then it's great. If you can not - then it might or might not work as intended.
