Servarica unlimited storage new hdd space check
Hi everybody,
I bought an unlimited storage plan from @servarica_hani . It is a plan where every day you earn 3GB of HDD space and it is applied after a reboot. I tried to check if the 3GB per day are correcly applied to my machine but I think I am using the wrong terminal commands because it is like I don't get 3GBxDay, but less (but I am pretty sure I use the wrong commands). I use the "df" command. As you can see from the screenshot I should get 15GB (5 days without rebooting), instead it looks like I got only 10GB. What command should I use?
Here you can find the terminal BEFORE the reboot:

I am kinda curious where do you see that 10GB increase as /dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-lv--root seems to be the same -
3588069624
for both logs. You using supported (theirs) system OS image/template?
Hi JabJab,
thank you for your reply.
I am using their template so it should be a supported OS template. Regarding the space I thought it was increasing because looking at the "available space" it actually increased, but just of 10.868 (I did 1285571476 - 1285560608) that I think it's more or less 10GB. But looking at the "Filesystem 1K-blocks" it remains always the same, you are right.
I don't know if I am missing something or if there is something wrong in my VM.
Thanks,
Valenerd
df
will show you the size of the filesystem. You need to check it withlsblk
orfdisk -l
for example which will show you the size of the attached disk.Thank you for your reply Talistech, unfortunately this is a VPS; I see different HDD. Furthermore I expect that the filesystem should increase after every reboot (this is what servarica claims) so the "df" command should work as well.
Thanks,
Valenerd
Did you reboot from the VPS or from the client area
to get the disk space added you need to issue reboot command from the client area
if that didnt work just open a ticket and the team will resolve it for you but it seems you just need to reoot from client area
Thanks
Hani
Hi @servarica_hani,
I continue to re-open the ticket (Ticket #416119) that I opened more than 2 months ago (14th september) and after 2 attempts and manual resize from your support I still don't get a working and automated solution. Honestly I am happy for the VPS per se, but I am reconsidering the renewal because open a ticket and allow your support team to access my VPS (with privacy concern) in order to fix the storage is not an ideal solution and doesn't seem an enterprise way of selling a service like the "unlimited storage".
Can you push for a final resolution please?
Thanks,
Valenerd
@Valenerd the expanding storage doesn't always work after reboot. when it doesn't you have to create a ticket for them to adjust the size manually (they don't need your vps credentials-- those asking are probably just following "the manual"). I used to do this every month and note the storage before and after reboot, and create a ticket if it doesn't increase as expected. Eventually I got tired of this manual maintenance and I don't really trust support to manually adjust disk space with my data potentially at risk, so I gave up on it.
Are there going to be blackfriday deals ?
Hi @Valenerd,
This is the note that I adjust the size manually,
I hope it helps you.

Hi everybody and thank you for your replies.
@Gelofuego thank you so much, really useful even if I hope servarica will solve my issue
@_cece, @artxs so it looks like "fake" the advertised automatic unlimited storage
@servarica_hani do you have any statements on this?
@servarica_hani Same question. Waiting for your BF promotion.
