If the dedicated part is mostly for high CPU usage, I’d highly recommend Avoro as you can get dedicated cores within your price range, and the cores won’t be those of a calculator.
But, to be clear, it’s not a dedicated server. It’s a VPS with dedicated cores.
+1
VPS with dedicated cores is much better option than low cost dedicated server with older CPU
We can provide VPS with dedicated cores.

Make sure to review this before getting a cheap dedicated server

Then make an informed decision based on your needs.
Now check cpu performance for 2 vCore VPS
https://browser.geekbench.com/v6/cpu/1908982
But for encoding and overloading VPS will terminate the account due to high cpu usage
They won't erminate your vps if the core is dedicated
If your raise your budget to 19$ you can get a cheap dedicated from pebblehost
Not if vCores are dedicated
I would recommend @mxmla Server Factory
Check if he has any VDS
VDS with two dedicated ryzen vCores could be more powerful
I agree, but who will give two dedicated RYZEN cores for 15$?
HostHatch Black Friday 2022 had four AMD EPYC cores (two dedicated), 16GB RAM, 100GB NVMe storage, for $125/year (~$10.41/month). It was even cheaper in prior years.
Advin Servers have a VDS with two Ryzen 5950X cores, 8 GB RAM, 500GB NVMe for $12/month. https://advinservers.com/vds
All Wishosting plans have "unlimited" CPU. Not dedicated, but they'll never suspend you for CPU usage (they throttle VPSes if needed during periods of very heavy load). They currently have a sale one with four Ryzen 5950x cores, 8 GB RAM, 500 GB NVMe, for $14/month. https://www.wishosting.com/order/main/packages/VPS/?group_id=7
Hmm, some of these VDS you guys are mentioning sounds like an interesting alternative to a cheap dedi if you want a decent CPU.
How would 2 Ryzen cores (threads?) compare to say an E3 KS-LE with 8 threads in terms of performance?
Hi, thanks for sharing. i am very interested in dedicated, i am also looking for dedicated or vps between 10 to 15$ between 16 gb of ram for encoding.
that can be installed ISO
do you know any very apart from the domains you shared.
https://www.nocix.net/
The hardware is old, but there's no better option in your budget
Also, nocix sometimes restocks $10 dedicated servers.
The Ryzen has far more cache, faster RAM (DDR4 instead of DDR3), and I think the single-thread performance is about 50% better. CPUs improved a lot in the decade between the two CPUs being released.
If you are looking for encoding, perhaps you should look for one with Intel UHD integrated graphics like: https://pulsedmedia.com/minidedi-dedicated-servers-finland.php
But unfortunately price starts at 24.99€ at this time
can be installed from image through rescue mode.
It will probably be several years we can get anything well below 20€ a month, these take a lot of effort to build and not too keen to buying that old HW just to get low price point, and never ROI on the base infra. We might be able to get 20€ a month option by end of Q1/24 tho, it all depends on how we decide to furnish those coming nodes.
