Can mount and install Oracle Solaris 11.4?
https://github.com/oracle/oraclesolaris-contrib
My client uses Solaris but does not provide us vendor with a sandbox.
Some commands in bash scripts that we developed worked on Linux (e.g., Redhat) but failed on Solaris
I'm a stranger to Solaris thus can any VPS support custom Solaris ISO mount or is this actually hardware dependent like HP-UX or some sort? Thanks in advance.

To my understanding, this works only on specified baremetal hardware, not a vps.
You may want to try Illumos?
Do i need bare metal or a kvm vps with custom mount? A virtualbox vm can do?
Yes Illumos distros do work on Virtualbox. However, the userland is close to Linux distros, and has been forked out of Solaris for a long time, so it might not test exactly what you want.
However, it seems you can run Solaris VM on Oracle Cloud: https://github.com/oracle/oraclesolaris-contrib/tree/master/OracleSolaris_OCI
It might better for your usecase!
thanks for the info. the Solaris OS is indeed available in Oracle market place.
however, the Compute VM cost about 13USD per month.
anyway, at least there are options.
