Mastodon not loading thumbnails on federated timeline... driving me mad!

Hi All,

im having an issue with Mastodon loading image thumbnails

they are black

however clicking on the image gives me the image

    Yes, help is: fix it.

    At least open the Browser network tools / inspect element and see what is in Console and how those thumbnail requests ends in Network tab (404 I assume from image in left upper corner?).

    Really helpful... I did already (after I posted) and it was indeed an issue with the image url being http and yet the nginx proxy was actually serving https .... once I worked out how to correct this (it was the s3 configuration..it now works
