    Nucleus is "the core" - the central part where things are grouped or gathered. There's a difference between cores and nucleii, but generally speaking, same deal. Why I remember that from high school, I don't know, but here we are.

    It's misspelt in OP's post. The "cores" equivalent for Spanish is "núcleos".
