Discord.io (custom links service for Discord.com servers) suffers massive data breach.

On the night of the 14th of August, Discord.io suffered a major databreach, resulting in content from our database being leaked to unknown actors.
We were made aware of the breach later on in the day, and after confirming the content of the breach, we decided to shut down all services and operations.

What happened?
We are still investigating the breach, but we believe that the breach was caused by a vulnerability in our website's code, which allowed an attacker to gain access to our database. The attacker then proceeded to download the entire database, and put it up for sale on a 3rd party site.

Looks like Dscord.io experienced a substantial data breach. The breach was identified later on the same day, and they decided to suspend all services and operations.

The breach's root cause is under investigation, but fist ideas suggest that a vulnerability in the website's code was exploited by an attacker, granting them unauthorized access to the database. This access was subsequently exploited to download the entire database, which was subsequently offered for sale on an external website.

The leaked data has both non-sensitive and potentially sensitive information. Non-sensitive data includes internal user IDs, avatar details, user statuses, etc. Moreover, certain potentially sensitive information such as usernames, Discord IDs, email addresses, and even salted and hashed passwords were compromised. Luckily payment information remains untouched, as they never stored such data on the servers/database.
