@jar's tutorial?
https://lowendbox.com/blog/how-to-migrate-a-hosted-server-in-5-easy-steps-with-rsync/
Thanks, @Arkas
There was a lengthy and useful post on LowEndTalk. I searched, but could not find it.
I guess, facing Murphy’s law at its best
to push use something like this
rsync -a ~/dir1 username@remote_host:destination_directory
to pull you could use something like this
rsync -a username@remote_host:/home/username/dir1 place_to_sync_on_local_machine
To host static web site in a folder
And view using rsync http
Any example?
What is rsync
ok, I got confused, thanks for my limited experience with Linux
it is RClone command
https://rclone.org/commands/rclone_serve_http/
This has the info I was looking for
Before I finally memorized the right commands and order of things, I used to open a web browser and search for "rsync linux command line". Lots of useful tutorials exist.
