Looking for a provider

TejveerTejveer Member

Hello,

Disclaimer first: I am a developer, not a sysadmin or a dbadmin, I have limited knowledge on hardware or server administration, but I will handle it for now, so please correct me if my expectations are too high or I have missing information. Please move the post, if it is in the wrong thread.

I have a ASPNETCORE app using websockets and Postgres, intended for running on Debian. Currently it will only be used for testing purposes.

My idea for requirements are: at least 4 threads, maybe 4-6 ECC RAM, 40+ GB SSD/NVMe, I don't know how many TB for bandwidth. I will probably do some stress testing. For now, the servers will be used in EU mostly and in US later. The infrastructure should allow vertical scaling, in case everything works well on low/mid term. I do not expect any kind of server management as long at it runs under acceptable/marketed conditions.

I would also want some common sense things like a reliable provider, DDoS protection, no gotchas, etc. I also expect that specs are as transparent as possible i.e. some providers do not mention ECC/non-ECC or if prices include taxes.

Is it possible to have this as cheap as possible but 15-20 euros tops ?

Thanks in advance. If any other information is required, I'll do my best to provide it.

$10 or 15 a month depending on the specs.
    https://my.hostbrr.com/order/main/packages/vps7950/?group_id=14

We also have our more budget offerings:

No gotchas or anything. The servers are hosted at Hetzner so hardware, network and reliability is top notch.

  • Do you have a provider in mind or a location that will best suit your requirements?

    How about Hetzner or Avoro?

Either way, I’d put CloudFlare on top.

  • If you're looking for transparency and DDoS protection/good hardware. Go with Avoro/PHP-Friends

Just a note: Avoro is using more modern hardware compared to PHP-Friends (someone on here confirmed that with their staff, Avoro is their new brand)

Hello! We can offer the following specifications for $20/month, DDoS protection is included (through our upstream):

    4 vCores of a Ryzen 5950X
    8GB DDR4 ECC RAM
    200GB NVMe (RAID 1)
Unmetred bandwidth at 1Gbit/s (shared, fair use)

    Order link: https://my.zadeservers.net/store/compute-optimized-nvme-kvm-de/de-compute-kvm-nvme-8

I can offer a trial as well if you're interested.

  • Thanks everyone for your offers. I decided to go with hostbrr's EPYC offer after a h2h comparison of multiple providers.

Thanks again and this thread can be closed.
