Looking for advice regarding hosting sales

Hey guys as you know by now I'm new and this is probably my first post!
I've recently started a game hosting with which we provide it in Singapore location.
We got a pretty great CPU Ryzen 5 5600X and we sell it for 1.20$/GB but whenever I approach someone the claim its too costly, I even compared it with other hosts and they just claim its out of their budget as they prefer other hosts with lower CPU performance just because its in their budget.

I kinda understand that face to face hosting introduction don't work out so I'm here to know the communities opinion on the question "what exactly are some ways I could advertise a Singapore game host?" I'd appreciate all the methods that you can think of, whether its a free method or a paid method.
Of course I have a budget for paid as we've started out low but right now we've been sponsoring Minecraft servers to get an ad on their discord server which might attract people in their community to come use our host.

I mean the market is saturated as fuck so if marketing isn’t already part of you’re idea, well..

  • Honestly the market is so saturated that you will generally not be able to break in unless you truly do something special. Generally you will find you have 2 types of providers, those who provide top tier hardware at expensive prices, and those who provide absolute bottom tier hardware for very low prices. Trying to be in the middle(like you are with 5600X and 1.2$), you don’t appeal really to either group so you will probally find that even if you do advertise you won’t get much attention.

And asking “What are marketing methods I can use” here doesn’t really work because if people give you answers here it’s already wildly known and as such it’s saturated usually to the point of not being worth it to try and break in.

Game hosting is very cut-throat and competitive, and has the highest concentration of skids and horrible people than any other segments of the industry.

Make sure you have good DDoS protection (such as CosmicGuard) because kids in Discord love knocking other people's Minecraft servers offline if they can.

As most have mentioned: the market is incredibly saturated.
Try to stand out by offering more features.

Included DDoS Mitigation, free subdomains, more locations are all things that could entice people to use your host over others.

And think of some more unique features

  • Thank you guy for your time and effort, I'll take every reply into consideration.

    • Sponsor a server to an active gamer clan/community.
    • Conduct a small tournament or sponsor an established tournament.
    • Advertise on gaming forums/communities/subs

The above should get you some traction. I do not know your marketing budget thus the suggestions are vague

Fix your offer so you’re no longer selling raw resources and provide true added value.

For starters, whatever you provide resource-wise should beat ExtraVM https://extravm.com/billing/cart.php?a=confproduct&i=2 or else they have no reason to go to you.

You could also offer hourly billing (like Vultr does) since hardly anyone offers that nowadays, but I have no idea how much of a pain provisioning on an hourly basis is on the backend. Hourly (or daily/weekly if you want to be less granular) may attract people who want a server for a couple weeks rather than a full month.

There is plenty of market in Indonesia, Mexico, India, Iran, Pakistan and Africa. Build DC's there and you will thrive.

the thing is they all got their own national payment methods. I currently accept card payments too but many survive on their own national payment methods and end up not being able to get a server with us. For example India, there's razorpay and I tried to make an account and they suspended it for some reason, there's not even a way to contact them as whenever I try to click on support they keep redirecting me to the KYC Page.

By this what I meant is, I could have had the chance to accept Indian Payments but because they have such a bad system of providing support I can't even accept Payments now.
I'm going to look at this other gateway called cashfree that's available.

Funny how when I was active in Minecraft, gaming etc, DDoS protection was a MUST

Even though no body made a dime

Since I’ve worked at a big SEO agency, with large clients, even betting/casino related ones

Never once had anyone I’ve worked with had a problem with DDoS, and most use DO

Whatever that means.. but it’s true, so yeah, fully agree

    CPU Ryzen 5 5600

It's quite far from a great proc for a hosted server, I guess. :o

PayPal works in India so it should be good for most users. You can also consider crypto payment option for universal compatibility.

Hi! I am from India, just provide Paypal, our cards work with it, and you don't need Razorpay, it is mainly used for Indian sites but if you are able to setup UPI using some other payment gateway that will be good, Racknerd also accepts Indian UPI payments maybe you can check what provider they are using and indeed Indian VPS is in very high demand.

    1. Your website isn't even done. It is literally full of Lorem Ipsum text (and also a literal placeholder for your "company" name). None of the buttons do anything.
    2. You only own the .cloud version of your "company" name, while the .com is freely available.

The first option is very bad idea. If you are small in the market and don't have any decent DDoS Protection. It can ruin your business instead of gain customers.

Not the best approach. Unless you have how to cover the issues about DDoS Protection.

Gaming is the last option you should go. Like I said. If you are new you probably will lose more money and time. Not the best way.

Well unless is a Game that doesn't have a lot of competitors, hate or toxic community. Rather than that should be a good idea. But I'm sure that you won't find any game community without receiving any DDoS attack.

PayPal does work in india but Domestic Payments doesn't. So we can only pay non indians.

India actually has a very good national payment system which is now even being accepted by many other countries, but that payment system is mostly for Domestic use

You should get Stripe to accept credit card payments

As far as I know Razorpay is just for Indian businesses not for international merchants, but now if you want to accept payments via UPI (Indian Domestic Payment System) try to contact Payssion.com they can allow you to accept Domestic Indian Payment methods along with many other modes of payments from other countries
