Need cheap small trustworthy VPS with 99.99%+ uptime - yearly payment - US data center
As per title of thread: Just need a cheap small trustworthy VPS with 99.99%+ uptime - yearly payment - in a US data center.
Like many of you, I'm the designated IT guy in the family, so this is for hosting some of my family's little personal PG-rated websites, nothing crazy, no freedom of speech issues, no controversy, very low risk of DDOS attacks, no crazy specs. Don't want to use shared hosting. But I do want cheap and VERY reliable.
I want to avoid putting them on one of my existing VPSes or servers where my business and personal projects are, and I also want to use this as an opportunity to try some different providers (hey, I might discover a new provider I like!), and I would prefer not to use the "big" providers for this stuff.
Mainly just want it to be super reliable so my family members don't complain about down time. (Love my family and I'm doing this for free, but I also want to give them very reliable hosting and I don't want any extra headaches.)
Thanks for your input!
EDIT: As for the definition of "cheap" - I would prefer not to spend more than $100 per year on this for family. Preferably $40-$60, and maybe $50 would be the sweet spot if possible. Depends on final specs after I compare some providers.

Thank you, @cybertech, will put GreenCloud on my list! I've read some good things about them.
Rackspace.com
Vultr.com
Hetzner.com
Aws lightsail
Reliable, trustworthy and budget friendly for small instances.
Thank you, @LTniger - I'm trying to avoid the "big" providers for this, but yes, those are reliable, for sure. (I also have business stuff at some of those so I want to avoid putting family stuff on the same service provider!)
What kind of cheap here? I believe it's subjective, but since you are on LET, cheap here could be something around $10-30 a year. It's just my opinion.
If so, then, you can grab current RackNerd promo plans.

Why not shared hosting? As the designated IT guy it will easily pay for itself in terms of not having to manage everything
@vpsdime can help you
Thank you, @febryanvaldo, as for "cheap" -- you are right, we're on LET, so that is subjective... I'll see if I can edit my post to clarify.
BTW, thanks for bringing that up. And actually, I don't know yet how "cheap" is cheap in my case... but I think it's a broad range, I guess, depending on the specs.
So let's say I would prefer not to spend more than $100 per year on this for family. Preferably $40-$60, and maybe $50 would be the sweet spot if possible. But I'll spend up to $100 depending on the specs I'm getting. Specs are less important than reliability though. Again, this is for family stuff, relatively simple hosting for their personal sites.
I have an idler with @Lyphiard (Nexril) that seems to be chilling just fine.
https://lg.nexril.net - just in case
It's a very good point. I also want to use this as an opportunity to test some new providers and how their VPS deployment system works, and 99% of what I host for my other projects is set up on VPSes or dedicated servers anyway, so it's not a big deal for me to maintain yet another one. Plus I want them to have their own IP address (yes, I know shared hosting can offer dedicated IP as well), and their own little virtual instance for any customization they might need.
But yeah, shared hosting would eliminate the management part of it. And would probably be more "sane."
If things get frustrating with them, then yeah, I might have to migrate them to a shared hosting provider in the future.

BuyVM; it's worth the effort to catch them when they actually have stock - on the (rare!) occasions there's a problem, they've usually spotted it and fixed it before my monitoring has even triggered.
Thanks to all for the suggestions, will check them all out!
I have US locations in Dallas, Miami, Los Angeles and NYC. DM me and let me know the plan and pricing you need and I'll see if I can do it. US locations come with unmetered bandwidth and use Ryzen 9 & NVMe.
