Is there any limit on cores like the basic plans that the site has now?
The boost clock is activated automatically as in the normal processors we have on our computer?
Is there backup and backup schedule in the offer?

You are allowed to use 50% continuous usage 24/7. CPU boosts automatically and you can create 1 backup via our Client Area with a function to schedule it.

Yes, but it is not routed. Can be requested via Ticket after deployment.

if I don't use the processor 100% continuously for 24 hours, will I normally have the 4 cores or will I also have a limit?
Use for websites (processor usage depending on load).

    Mentioned in their TOS https://server-factory.com/terms-of-service.html

    Processor for Virtual Private Servers
For Virtual Private Servers Processor Resources are fair use.

server-factory.com defines fair usage as no more than 50% continuous usage.

  • Dumb question: Why providing 4vCPU 50% fair use and not 2vCPU 100% fair use?!

And what about packages with 1vCPU?
It's most likely easier to set up limit if every vCPU have the same 50% fair use.

ServerFactory used to offer VDS where the CPU can be used 100% at all times.
The ratio is one full core per 8GB RAM.

    I have the 4GB plan.
I get one core that is permanently limited to 50%.
When I run ffmpeg, htop shows 50% usage and 50% steal.

I think the "50% fair usage" is to provide more CPU power for bursts.
Provider answered in the past that the customer can elect to have the permanent limit instead, e.g. 2 cores 100% usage.
Either way you won't earn a suspension for high CPU usage, but you may receive a permanent limit if you exceed 50% fair use.

One possible alternative is to provide maxcpus=2 boot parameter, to use only 2 CPU's even if 4 are provided by hypervisor. Then I guess those 2 could be used up to 100%?

Haven't tested this... just an idea.

As @yoursunny already described correctly, the main reason is to burst the CPU when needed
