Hetzner EX44 EX101 Intel Processor

DrMakDrMak Member

Hi all,,

For the price/performance (Passmark i5-13500) I think its very lucrative B) to go with this lineup on hetzner.
I have some quick query about EX44 or EX101 from hetzner if anyone using this intel processor please leave some review or suggestion in this thread :) ..

  • The first and foremost how it perform in virtual environment like KVM or Xen, as it have P/E core:
Total Cores: 14 Cores, 20 Threads
Performance Cores: 6 Cores, 12 Threads, 2.5 GHz Base, 4.8 GHz Turbo
Efficient Cores: 8 Cores, 8 Threads, 1.8 GHz Base, 3.5 GHz Turbo

  • Do the iGpu work on this as it have Intel UHD Graphics 770 and can we passthrough ?

I haven't experienced it myself but I heard that efficiency cores are not good for virtualization. So, going with AX52 instead of EX44 will be a better choice i think.

    Thanked by 1DrMak
  • Yes, the pricing is really good though, but it's non ECC RAM. For production, then i will still go with AX52 with upgrade to ECC RAM. I know it a little bit more expensive.

hum.. there is and upgrade for ecc on ax series also for the same as ax series.

I know ex series will be better & expensive than ax if u include the ecc upgrade thats same on both. But for just 5 vm's (production) including may be 2 LXC containers it may be good too.

How the e-core works on proxmox .. does it support the e-core or used only P-core and what abt igpu ...... :s
