How to test VPS?

in General
Hello, how can we test the speed and hardware power of a virtual server? Are there methods to control this from the command line? or any tool?

yabs.sh
you can also perform other various tests
wget -qO- yabs.sh | bash
https://github.com/masonr/yet-another-bench-script
wget -qO- bench.sh | bash
I am curious too, since we have the tool to benchmark it, how do we actually compare the numbers? How do we know that number is sufficient for x work and not y work? I think I am pretty dumb in this haha still new
My method:
Processor and System: Geekbench 5, Geekbench 6, PerformanceTest (PassMark), and UnixBench.
Network and Disk: YABS (Disk IOPS), Bench.sh (Disk I/O Speed), Network-Speed.xyz, Benchy.pw
Latency: Ping.pe, Check-Host.net, Ping.sx, DNSTools.ws.
.
YABS - fio/iperf3 & Geekbench
ping.pe - ping/mtr
nexttrace - traceroute
sysbench - cpu/fileio/memory
This is extremely useful! Thank you for this! Just a small thing, can you pin the header on the spreadsheet haha have to scroll up and down a lot
Done.
Can you test Racknerd?
Which plan/type? There are so many plans there, and the pricing is on high-end, especially for LET or LES users. The only reasonable pricing is their promotional plans.
awesome list you have there, would be great if you included DC location too!
Yeah, but sadly some providers don't mention their DC locations. Tired asking it via ticket or live chat.
Excellent thread!
Hats-off to you bro
I would be so grateful!
I have both of these with 4vCPU, but getting inconsistent pings. I was thinking of trying another service, but I have nothing to reference with.
