I don't generally use Venmo for purchasing because its reward rates are measly.
For the period of 2023-06-06~2023-06-30, the maximum achievable reward rates among my dozen credit cards are:
10% - Shake Shack, Starbucks
5% - restaurant, grocery, Amazon, Target
3% - PayPal, catering, travel, transit, fuel
1% - rental car
2% - everything else
On the other hand, Venmo payments would earn a measly 0% cashback.
I charged two transactions to Venmo last month, only because Venmo promised a $10 reward after $50 purchases, bumping its reward rate to 20% if the purchase total is exactly $50.
This is a rare occurrence that happens once every two years.

How do you get the reward?
Is there a difference between PayPal, Stripe and other payment gateways?
PayPal transactions are charged to PayPal Cashback Mastercard, which offers 3% cashback on PayPal transactions year round.
Occasionally Chase Freedom and Discover it affnon aff would offer 5% cashback on PayPal transactions too, and then I would select that credit card instead.
Stripe transactions are charged to Apple Card, which offers 2% cashback on Apple Pay transactions year round.

💳 Request Venmo debit card.
💳 Enter debit card number on Stripe.
This is the way.
I do not live in the US, but isn't Venmo owned by Paypal?
and isn't it both the same? 🤔
So, I'm not the only one who has enjoyed their fair share of Mandalorian?
they are two different apps afaik
paypal is more business and venmo is more, yk, UPI kinda thing
It is a favorite, unfortunately Mando doesn't accept Venmo either.
We tried it earlier this year, but not a single client used it, so we scrapped it.
