No more non-html terms on cloudflare?

KebabKebab Member

In the cloudflare terms page there used to be 2.8 section term that disallowed non-html content.
I noticed that the term was removed and I can't find any other mention of non-html.
Seems like they now allow doing things like streaming video, image hosting?

Confirmed in Cloudflare Developers, it was removed 3 days ago from the self-service terms, but the rules still apply for the majority of Cloudflare services on Service-Specific Terms. So no, using Cloudflare Tunnels for your jellyfin or plex instance is still not allowed afaik.

Finally, we made it clear that customers can serve video and other large files using the CDN so long as that content is hosted by a Cloudflare service like Stream, Images, or R2.

Video and large files hosted outside of Cloudflare will still be restricted on our CDN

They didn't mentioned about WebAPI without video or audio or large file. Just JSON file?

Cloudflare’s content delivery network (the “CDN”) Service can be used to cache and serve web pages and websites. Unless you are an Enterprise customer, Cloudflare offers specific Paid Services (e.g., the Developer Platform, Images, and Stream) that you must use in order to serve video and other large files via the CDN. Cloudflare reserves the right to disable or limit your access to or use of the CDN, or to limit your End Users’ access to certain of your resources through the CDN, if you use or are suspected of using the CDN without such Paid Services to serve video or a disproportionate percentage of pictures, audio files, or other large files. We will use reasonable efforts to provide you with notice of such action.

I wonder how they count cloudflare pages

"Cloudflare offers specific Paid Services (e.g., the Developer Platform, Images, and Stream) that you must use in order to serve video and other large files via the CDN"
Cloudflare pages is part of Developer Platform

The maximum asset size is 25 MB, it's not really large by anyone's standard.

    file count limit is 20_000
    25MB * 20000 = 500GB
could work for chunked videos and you can have 100 sites per account
    500GB * 100 = 50TB

If someone actually tries to do that the sites will be reviewed and they'll get banned regardless of rule lawyering. The last time EasyList get in trouble with Cloudflare it's simply due to how many traffic they generate, even though those are entirely text files. They ain't gonna be "aw shucks, this guy's video site is completely within ToS, we can't kick him out".

Your account will be banned pretty quick afaik.
