AMD Ryzen™ Z1 Extreme Processors - what are these?
Are these meant for handheld devices only? The only way I can see to get it is the pre-order the ROG Ally.
I think they will make a nice small desktop or a mini pc CPU.
Wished I had more information!
I ask is because someone is gonna buy me a mini-pc, but I will wait if these come out as mini-pc's that are nicely priced.

basically it's a 7840U
Thanks, you are correct.
The only difference I could find is Z1 uses more wattage

Also
https://frame.work/ is pre-selling their 13 inch laptop with the 7840U, soon they will be releasing a 16 inch one, not sure what they will go with. Since it's a bigger laptop with a bigger cooling solution they may skip the U for the H version.
Or you can pre-order just the motherboard https://frame.work/products/mainboard-amd-ryzen-7040-series?v=FRANGV0007 and build your own case.
They already have some models in their github https://github.com/FrameworkComputer/Framework-Laptop-13/tree/main/Mainboard/Printable Case .
Using an online 3d printing service you wouldn't have to even buy a 3d printer: https://all3dp.com/1/best-online-3d-printing-service-3d-print-services/
I've been itching to upgrade my laptop but if I can wait, a good Ryzen with apu will come out and kick so much ass.
