StackOverflow plans to integrate generative AI into its network
"Community is the future of AI"
Stack Overflow CEO Prashanth Chandrasekar announced plans to join the hype train and integrate the so-called generative AI into the company's products. The move has sparked outrage and is viewed as completely out of touch by the community who had spent the last several months cleaning up the network from low-quality AI-generated answers after a ban on ChatGPT content was put in place in December.

Wow, sounds nice to have.
From my perspective they're in an interesting position. On one hand, AI makes me visit their website less. On the other hand, it's probably because their website exists that the AI makes me visit their website less. If my experience matches enough of others, I expect that embracing it is the only logical solution.
Well, user generated content is way better, as it is random/unique. Yes AI can also provide answers, but soon humans will differentiate human answer from AI. Humans make misstakes, these are also valuable as provokes discussion.
AI on stackoverflow generated from content/snippets from stackoverflow. Literally just another form of search functionality.

I'm sure SE is listening to their community...right?
Every time I see someone thinking ChatGPT (or natural language AI) is a valid source of info, I die a little inside. Reminds me of that day where I spent like 3 hours trying to figure out the proof ChatGPT generated, only to have counterexample posted in 5 minutes right after I posted it on Maths StackExchange.
