Any alternatives? Mostly interested in the Dynamic DNS portion.
Preferably free. If paid please say so up front.
Also please place a direct link to the service avoid confusion.

HE.
nic.eu.org?
Thanks for reporting outage.
I've switched the ddns to cloudflare.
@trycatchthis alternative for free DNS or domains ?
For Free DNS;
https://gcore.com/dns (amazing)
https://desec.io/
https://www.vultr.com/docs/introduction-to-vultr-dns/
https://dns.he.net/
domains
Shit. I have 3 domains and many ddns there for many of my home connections on ipv6. I hope it is not permanent.
Probably not permanent. Always been skeptical of them given their poor uptime, as such I’ve always considered other free providers first
desec.io is nice but they usually face some random DDoS attacks.
vouch for desec, they do get ddos attacks by and then, but with nice TTL's it can go forever.
give gcore a shot

they are generally extremely stable but i recommend using 2 different providers at the time, you can sync them nicely.
I don't recall it has ever been down this long.
Just sent the owner an email to ask what's up.
they got dnssec?
Well, I am a member since 2010 or earlier, I use for home stuff and the ddns for IPv6 is great.
Hey, you chickenkiller, I miss mooo too. I hope we're not on the ignorelist and we will continue with the crabdance soon ;-)
Never been strangled before?
not yet sadly, they are working on it.

Nah, I prefer to undo it.

I don't know the meaning of that. It must be some sort of twilightparadox
Because of this down time I will use at least 2 providers for redundancy in case it ever happens again.
Also add noip.com to the list.
Cloudflare
Hmm everything dies
Damn, I hope Josh lives forever!
Its back up now. But still will continue with redundancy because of this outage.
dont trust the EU.
how do you sync the soa serial? tried something with dnscontrol and left it.
I don't think its possible to sync it with 2 different providers, but make sure TTL is the same everywhere. But yeah, soa serial does not do much.
How do you sync across providers with different dnssec DS records?
Regarding freedns.afraid.org, DNS wasn't down, just their frontpage.
