Looking for high bandwidth liberal AUP policy
BruhGamer12

I run some tor exit nodes and am looking to open a few more!
I need at least 2 threads of a cpu made in the last 7 years, 4gb of ram, and a 200 mbps connection with at least 60tb(the higher the better) of bandwidth for $30 or less a month(willing to prepay up to 24 months)
Obviously I will run my own reverse dns and web page indicating what kind of server this is to people who visit the IP, but having a hosting company who supports what I am doing always helps because I do wish to follow the TOS and AUP of any provider I use.

Some providers to hit up
I'd go with Terrahost "basic" dedi's which feature 1Gbps unmetered dedi bandwdith(no fup) and grab 2 additonal IP's and run 2/3 exits there - the speed will be limited by Tor network itself, not hardware/or link speed. They are $19-$45/mo. https://metrics.torproject.org/rs.html#search/as:AS56655
rdp.sh should work as well, I'm not aware of them forcing certain bandwidth, you can comfortably sit on 10Gbps. they are about $10 for a server that should easily run a relay hitting 150/300 Mbps. https://metrics.torproject.org/rs.html#search/as:AS210558
mevspace dedi + additonal ip's would also work nicely, they have 1Gbps unmetered dedicated ports which you can max out 24/7(no fup).
They are a bit pricey than above options(~$50 + vat) but feature better cpu's than terrahost "basic" dedis so you can run more exits there.

Thank you for this list! I will look over it the next few days!

If you don't want to pay for a full dedi, RDP.sh is probably the best option.
Terrahost/HostSlick are both excellent options, but you must pay for an entire dedicated server to run an exit node.
Yes at the moment I am thinking I will go with RDP.sh unless a cheap dedi opens at terrahost
any one having experience about spectraip dedi/vps?
I know ppl, they say its mixed - it may be connected to ecatel, but its not ecatel. they shouldnt care just like ecatel, but the quality is lower.
I personally have them on a list "to try providers", and will likely do. Because they look very promising and aren't that bad.
Have a dedi with them, no issues or downtime at all.
Network wise, it could be better, its Novogara's network at the end of the day...
I contacted their support team on Telegram some weeks ago and they said it isn't allowed. Are you sure it is?
Yes, only in their German loc though(and maybe Poland, but not Ukraine for some reason).
I have run an Exit for a while on their German location, and they even handled abuse reports for me. They will limit you to 50Mbps though per their FUP.
Got one for your list, the guys from this post:

Here was their response when I asked about tor exits (although at first they thought I was asking for support regarding it):
“ No problem, It's legal, You proceed”
Been running tor exits on 3 different $1/month servers in 3 different locations for about two weeks and they seem to not give a shit about anything
Here’s one of them:
If nothing else, it’s only a dollar
Thanks.
Can you provide me with their ASN or sub they use?
Also, what location did you went with?
They're on ColoCrossing (AS36352) and ServerHub/"Eonix" (AS62904). Definitely just made it obvious which nodes are mine, but whatever.
I'm using Miami, Amsterdam, and Buffalo. EU locations are extra cost, but if you use the coupon 1LEB it's a percentage rather than flat discount so all upgrades are 80 percent off, meaning Amsterdam is 20 cents more.
I don't know about running Tor Exit on US nodes.
Why not?
It seems super risky to host Tor Exit in the US because of the abuse reports it creates, and if they are not being addressed, it can get taken down pretty fast.
Depends on the provider. Some are known to just toss them out if it’s a tor exit. It’s up to the customer to make sure the provider is cool with it before trying to do anything that might generate reports. At the end of the day, if my $1 a month service gets taken down, I won’t lose any sleep over it, anyways.
Its perfectly legal to host it in the US. If Your provider acts only by law(as it should) - it will be there just fine. There are plenty of decent US hosts that allow Tor to be hosted there.
“ No problem, It's legal, You proceed”
Ah this is good to know! Ive been hosting bridges on their US locations because I did not know how open they were to exits so this is good to know!
You should definitely make sure whatever host you use is ok with it before you do open an exit but it is explicitly legal in US law to run exit nodes.
You can indeed check our dedicated servers.
Otherwise I can quote you a VPS where you have 200mbps unmetered (true unmetered) within your budget. The 200mbps will be a rate limit on a 10Gbit (shared, NOT over-shared) VPS node.
So you can use your 200mbps always
We do everything what is not against law.
Its good, that you have a Website with contact details, rDNS etc.
Perfect would be if you also have ports blocked which can be abused for illegal activities like hacking, spam, port scan. etc etc. and have a good tor policy setup
Ah one I saw you did not have was buyvm - I use them for some exit nodes and they explicitly say they are ok with I2P and Tor Exits in their tos and accept crypto.
So you can use your 200mbps always
We do everything what is not against law.
Ah ok I will keep this in mind as I look over providers over the next few days, I was looking at originally running some nodes on your services but was worried since I already use you guys for some other hosting so didn't want to open an exit node and get all my services cancelled lol.
We have too many exits as it is so tor recommends against provisioning more
Francisco
Probably because your such a great host when it comes to free speech lol. But thanks for the note from tor that is good to know.
