Looking for BIG storage DEDI (more than 16 disks x 14/16 TB) [NL/DE/FR]
Howdy,
Looking for a bare minimum of a server with such specs in NL, can do FR/DE but highly prefer NL.
CPU: Any dual xeon E5 (cannot be 20000 years old)
RAM: any, really dont use that much ram. (currently use around 10gb of 32gb)
OS DISK: 2x250/500 SSD - RAID1
Storage: 16 x 16 TB minimum of 16 disks, can be a smaller or bigger disk in size like 14TB or 18TB.
Network: 5G unmetered
Location: NL preferred, but DE and FR work too. (No hetzner)
Budget, not set.
Can pre-pay 3 months if it helps.

Honestly, with the storage and network requirements you are looking for, I recommend contacting @PulsedMedia and getting something custom-made, but they are located in Finland.

12x Dual E5v1 is absolutely routine nodes for us.
16x HDD does not fit into 2U and is less than 4U. 3U chassis is rare and does not fully optimize for the space.
Our typical sizes in that range are 12x and 36x. 24x can also be acquired, but prefer not. 24x and 36x is going to be EPYC since we would have to get at least the chassis new.
12x + 45x JBOD is quite regular for us as well.
Alternatively 2*12x nodes could be done.
If Finland is OK, let us know which you prefer, and i'll get an offer made.
Considering 10G unmetered, i would presume price is around 500€ a month tho at a quick guesstimate
Can do this in our (self owned) Frankfurt Datacenter using a Supermicro 4U Build including our AS30823 premium network blend at 0,15€ per Mbit 95/5 (5Gbit Flat = 750€ on a 10G Port, up to 40G).

24x18TB node downconfigured for 2x512GB NVMe and minimum would be 128GB RAM to use all 8 memory channels, perhaps even smaller 24C CPU (all depends what on stock) i guess we can creep below 1000€/Mo
36x8TB even much below, right chassis size and 8TB drives are "practically free" for us right now (have like 300x in stock not used right now), probably in the 800€ a month range, funnily enough -> more performance lower price
We can actually outfit one of those machines with 2x 45 drive jbods and have done so many times
It's kinda funny to see 116 drives on a system.
