Connect hetzner dedicated and cloud server through vswitch

Has anyone tried connecting dedicated server and cloud vps?
Traffic between is free or counted against 20TB cloud ?
What is the network speed you are getting?

It is free. Latency is very low, don't really care about bandwidth, but suppose it's at least 1gbps.

Robot panel says only 1TB is free just now noticed 🥺

    From: https://docs.hetzner.com/robot/dedicated-server/network/vswitch/

Internal traffic (across locations) is free of charge. For the public subnets, vSwitches have an included traffic limit of 1TB per month. Each additional TB costs € 1.00 per month (excl. VAT).

  • Traffic between cloud server and dedicated server is free? Both directions?

I contacted Hetzner support a few times about this, they've said that it's free. I have never tested it, but I thought of testing it at some point. Could be a cheap way to get more than 20TB of bandwidth, by running traffic through multiple cloud servers.

    Thanked by 1Donkey
